If these new laws are enforced it just might get the attention of the public.... They've cleared the Council of State and are in the National Legislative Assembly. Will they pass??

Proposed Changes to the Transport Act 1979; under the new law. The Department has proposed to amend the penalty in three major sections.

1 . Section 64, driving without a license. The law is punishable by imprisonment not exceeding 1 month, up to a maximum of 1,000 baht, but the new law proposed to impose a penalty of up to 3 months imprisonment, up to a maximum of 50,000 baht.

2. Section 65, driving during a license expires, is suspended or revoked. Or be seized According to the original law, punishable not more than 2,000 baht, but the new law proposed to increase the imprisonment penalty is to imprisonment not more than 3 months, the penalty increased to a maximum of 50,000 baht.

3 . Section 66, driving without a valid license. Under the original law, not more than 1,000 baht, but according to the new law. Proposed maximum fine of up to 10,000 baht,
