visas for China

Post by FrazeeDK » January 21, 2018, 6:47 pm

In preparation for an April trip to China to visit friends we went down to the Chinese Consulate in Khon Kaen.
here is there website which has specific requirements for tourist visas. http://khonkaen.china-consulate.org/eng/

It is located here: https://www.google.co.th/maps/@16.41546 ... 6656?hl=th

They are open for visa service 9AM-12PM. The service was pretty quick as we had all our paperwork in order. For Americans the tourist visa cost is 4560 Baht. Sounds steep BUT!! If your passport has over a year of validity left you will be given a 10 year multiple re-entry visa. The Chinese consular officer who spoke perfect English explained that the 10 year visa is due to a diplomatic agreement between the U.S. and China. We paid another 800 baht apiece so we could have same day service which took about an hour. (yeah we've heard of that racket before but at least they have that cost shown on their website)...
