Anyone have numbers for Taxi firms where they speak English on the phone?

A lot of recent success reported by members using the Grab app on their smartphone to get local taxis to & from the airport and in and out of town on a night out. Loads cheaper than the 'meter' taxi too.

Otherwise from the internet I have seen 098 651 3465, 087 095 3248 and 085 022 9520

Good luck!

I've been praising Grab and for me its the only option I'll use now. As long as you've got a smart phone its really really easy.

Even if the driver speaks no English they have your location on the map anyway. Another good thing is that it saves your trip pick up and drop off locations so of your doing the same journey it only takes seconds to request the trip.

I'll never use a Samlor again!

Ditto.

Should be added to Parrot's. List of positive advances in Udon IMO

There are some very nice 'hotels' on the outskirts of town........like the Bouquet Boutique Hotel in Nongsamrong. In the past, I wouldn't have recommended such a place for anyone without personal transportation.....but with things like Grab, short trips into town would be easy.....and cheap enough.

Disruptive technology at its best!

Used Grab again last night for a trip into town and I must win the funniest situation with Grab so far

Took a while to get a ride confirmed, Number of car was ****55 Altis

Driver rang to confirm and all done as I tracked his arrival.

Arrival of the Altis ****55

It was a METER TAXI freelancing as Grab Taxi !! 555555

Paid my 50 baht and 10 baht tip, smiled for ages after LOL

Got a Grab from the airport today. Fifteen minute wait and 90 baht to cut across town. A 30-something lady driver who drove just like me (pushy) and took the exact same route I would have taken to avoid the ring-roads. 30 baht tip, big waii.
