What are the better hotels around walking distance of The Plazza for a week in July?

For years now we have stayed at the Pannarai Hotel (pool side rooms) for the location, cleanliness, comfort and service. But I did notice many new hotels in the area on my last visit in the later part of last year. I'd certianly get onto booking.com or agoda.com and have a look at the new places as some looked really impressive from the outside, including - https://www.the8hoteludonthani.com/ and https://banbuagrandudon.com/
Hopefully other posters will be able to add more.

Really depends on what facilities the OP considers "better", and what price he is prepared to pay.
Does he want a pool, Breakfast, WIFI in room, Aircon or fan, large or small room, balcony or not etc etc
BTW I suspect they would be the same in June or August
Perhaps if OP were to select two or three possibilities that fit his requirements, from a site like Agoda, and then ask if any members have experience of those hotels

https://hotelmoco.com/ very nice but tres expensive!!!
Yes I can search on the internet, but I wondered whether there were any local knowledge. Nothing fancy required/no pool etc. as long as it has air con, breakfast and is clean.
What is the name if that hotel built a few years ago opposite Brick House Inn?

The Pannarai https://www.booking.com/hotel/th/the-pa ... #hotelTmpl
For price, location and amenities Pannarai is a good bet.

MOCO over priced. However, new, clean, good location and with a well trained staff.

The Old Inn had some good reviews from members when it first opened. Plugged in some dates and it's a tad cheaper than Pannarai and still a great location.

Thanks for the input - have booked Pannarai for two nights for my wife and two sons. I do know the hotel but never stayed there. Reviews are generally good although noise can be an issue. In this case for two nights it will be ok. My wife will be there for 7 weeks......later on in her stay - when she retakes her driving test after 3 years expired....renews son's passport etc, she will have use of car, and may well stay at Grand Belle hotel.
