Looking for an apartment/condo with gym

Post by juan.bangkok » April 19, 2011, 4:07 pm

Hi,

My name is Juan and this is my first post in the forum. I'm from Spain and have been living in Bangkok for the last 2 years and 4 months.

I'm going to stay in Udon Thani for one month (maybe more) and I wonder if someone could advise me about a condo / apartment (a studio is ok). The only two important things are a) a gym -even a small one-, and b) a working desk with a decent internet connection in the room.

I've been googling and reading this subforum, and while I got an idea of the options available I still didn't find a real option.

Any comments would be really welcome. I'll be there... tomorrow.

Thanks in advance,
Juan

Hi I`m new here too and also looking for a place to stay. 2 room apt or condo would be preferred. Not interested in a house since we travel a lot and want more security.
Thank you

I think you are going to struggle to be honest.
There are no condo building as such in Udon.
Places that have a Gym attached you might want to look at
Englishman's Retreat http://www.englishmansretreat.com/
Big City Gym http://biggymcity.com/
In my opinion your own transport would be essential staying in either.

There are a couple of Gyms around the City that I can think of. One off Nong Sim & 1 off Nong Prajack.

The more expensive hotels would certainly do suites at a PRICE!!
Centa - but don't forget the centre of town is a building site at the moment.
Prajaktra - http://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/p ... 16518.html
President Hotel

Think you will even struggle to find somewhere with a room & cooking facilities although I do know that they are sometimes available...

Good grief Papa, is it really.
I know that it had been up for sale for a long time (& a huge amount of money).
I actually drove by that way today but never gave it a look...maybe because it was no longer there it seems... :D :D

Ban Chiang Hotel has a great gym, one of the best in Udon.

Not far away is Jan Condotel for rooms (not sure of interet, though likely).

The gym off of Nong Sim is located in a condo/apt type building, rather small and containing a limited amount of exercise machines, I think mostly aerobic. I don't have any other details in reference to amenities or vacancy, however it's in good location directly across the street to the park/lake and within easy walking distance to Adunyatdet Rd.

Yep, I was surprised myself.

If the OP has his own transportation then I would suggest looking around in the vicinity of the Physical Education college, there are many condo/apts in the area (behind the college campus). It's also school break for most and vacancies may be abundant.

First, thank you for your replies. I finally need to postpone my travel until next month. I'm keeping this page as a reference.
