Used a 7 earlier today spent 263bt on milk , Frosties coffee yoghurts a cheeky Snickers etc.. convenience is the key , quick stop in n out and ive rarely been the only customer in any 7 most are busy especially the ones in the PTT stations . The cashier asked me if i wanted a bag so i said yes please n got a plain standard thin plastic bag same as the old 7 ones but no logo .

I did note 2 Thais (young ladies) at the till both spent over 500 bt and i did also notice they did a juggling act going to the car.

I also use the Tesco express mini stores and i bought a couple of the bags for life which i leave in the truck.

Talking about bags, I did note that the Government is warning about these reusable bags made of woven plastic can be more environmentally UNFRIENDLY when they deteriorate as the plastic breaks down into smaller particles more easily creating micro plastic.
I say this as the other day visiting Global, saw that their reusable was plastic bags exactly like that, I pointed out thet they are still plastic, sadly the clerks had zero knowledge and shrugged their shoulders.
So fabric IS THE WAY TO GO IT SEEMS .

What answer to that question were you really expecting from staff.
The last thing on a worker’s mind would be what the company corporate policy was to reusable plastic bags.
I’ll assume you asked in Thai. I’m sure as you walked away she was thinking, WTF was that falang on about.

=D> .... im guessing you are correct Barney

The only thing on most workers minds is is it time to go home yet ?? .. sure fire way to get an immediate response is to ask
Have you eaten yet ?
What did you have for lunch ? ..

At this point you will hold 100% of their attention span for a few seconds or so.

Amazon coffee places now have fabric bags for take away , have to be bought n not cheap .

Drinking straws n plastic cutlery etc next ??

Tops still has plastic bags, only change is a charge of 1฿ each.

At least Royal Project posted a notice at least 1 week before going bagless, therefore was prepared.

My problem with Tesco, No Notice that it was always the 4th which I avoided.
Needed to go to big Tesco today. Now have same plastic bags again 1฿ each. Wife had brought her shopping bag full of plastic bags and now has new job bagging groceries.

No bags not working out?

Well if they refuse I guess they save the money on bags and labour....great deal for them, no discount for the customer subsidizing their costs.

I think the term is bag for life KP .. as in Mickeys catchy tune on BGT.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzGeIQTOMP4

Tescos EXPRESS locations in Keang Dong and Khu Meaung spend over 1000 bet a free BAG FOR LIFE , dunno if perminant or just a temp deal. the BFL was decent quality.

Bag for life???
Many years ago in my dads day, or so I was told in the pub, that used to be provided once you signed the wedding papers with the celebrant.

She would be in good company then. A few of us have been asking that question for years.

Have you ever shopped for a bunch of stuff at Tesco in the UK and used the regular check out?

Yes it does seem strange that 7 - 11 are still giving bags after such a high profile campaign ref not doing so .. on my travels only a very few 7s refuse to give or offer a plain un logoed bag .. MOST DO . TIT
