Ayeup lads... sausage wars may be about to kick off (again).

Very, very subjective things are sausages so the OP would probably need to be a bit more precise than just 'good quality' as the criteria.

There was a bloke down Pattaya way opened a restaurant for his missus out the dark side that advertised the English brekky and much of his home-made pork sausages. We got into a discussion and he introduced me to percentages where he reckoned locally made stuff had too much filler whereas he made them the way he wanted with 80% meat. There was just too much meat and not enough filler IMHO. They were dense and surprisingly tasteless and just not to my taste. His business folded anyway. An Aussie guy who planned on selling up and eventually moving to Pattaya brought the fixings and on each of his 3 trips, made sausages in 3 varieties and they were superb. Lighter, more balanced and their taste complimented the rest of the stuff on the plate. He never talked up percentages but made a sausage that was very popular and everyone at the bar bought up each batch quickly. Unfortunately, his circumstances changed and he stopped coming over.

Yes, sausages are a bit like pies really...

I have not been disappointed with the mid-range sausages from TIT.

I also was quite happy with Manston's that were purchased a Siamburi's down in Pattaya. Never seen them up here though.

I also like the ones that frequently show up in the freezer at tops. Yellow label, forget the brand. IIRC they do an English and an American sausage. They also do an American sausage patty that is as close as you'll get to a Jimmy Dean.

Similarly, there's another one in the freezers at Villa (not Sloans) that passed my taste test. Maybe from Chiang Mai Gourmet?

Never tried Sloans as the price put me off and maybe being a bit of a sausage purist, I'm not into esoteric mixes. Having said that, a few mates have talked up their pork and apple offering.

Just never, ever let anything made by Yorkie's enter your mouth and you'll be OK.

I reckon the local ones filled with rice are best.

Combined with a few dozen fried crickets, a dollop of gapi paste, a few slices of cucumber and a wad of khao nieaw, and you have a FULL THAI blekky.

Out here in NWS me and a few chaps get our pies and farang goodies from the buriram pie man.best food by far and a lot cheaper than anything sold in udon.he sends them by bus in boxes of dry ice.his chicken n ham and mince n Stilton pies are the best.weve just ordered 95 pies this week.dont know what his sausages are like but going by the other products I've had he seems to know his business.its a pity he don't have a shop here as it dwarf all other farang outlets by far.transporting the pies added 10b a pie but still only works out at 70-80b and proper.just goes to show how expensive udon outlets are.he sends about once a month when he delivers to outlet in kk.highly recommended.

My mate in Chiangmai swears by this guy's sausages, I was a bit confused because when he mentioned the Sausage
K!ng I though he must know DM but no, there appears to be another sausage specialist, not being a huge fan of sausages myself I've never tried these so I can't recommend any variety etc.

. Looks like a nice site and got that Morrisons feel to it.i can't quote on the quality but his prices on pies are 30-40b more expensive, his curries are double the price of burirampieman.all the food I've had off him is bang on in my opinion.weve got a club out here in NWS and we get an order together to be delivered at bus station.as for sausages I use makro long herb or Cumberland @199b a kg and use them in sausage and bacon with rich onion gravy.i actually make and sell in NWS some of my own meals.pork and mushroom in creamy pepper sauce, chicken and smoked ham in euro cheese sauce.(Parmesan, mature cheddar, cream cheese,Camembert) @80b for 400gr...one thing I can say is the farang in NWS do eat (and drink) well.as for sausages my vote goes to a good old Lincolnshire.

Im affraid sausages are like pies ! One mans wonderful banger is another mans dog food .
Individual tastes and all that . Ive been hunting a decent sausage for over ten years .
Find a new one only to be dissapointed . I think ive tried them all , and nothing , nothing compares to either a British butchers homemade , or if your lazy like me and shopped at Tesco , Porky Whites.
Now thats what you can call a sausage.
