WE have been let down by the NEW Expats
Why are you constantly trying to engage with me?

What the fug has it got to do with you how, when or who ate the donuts we bought on offer?
  • Stop quoting me
  • Stop replying to me
  • Stop trying to be funny as though you know me
Is that in simple enough English for you to understand?

Crikey, a Dunkin Donut deal of two bubble milk drinks & 12 donuts has caused unexpected controversy on the tastebuds.

I find it fairly easy to not buy something I don't like, maybe some of you should try this approach, Its not that difficult

All ours were fresh, soft & moist (great word, I’m going to use it more often)
I didn’t like two particular ones as they turned out to be dusted in desiccated coconut but this would be a preference as opposed to poor quality.
There was nothing to stop us buying some more on our next visit

Yes, moist is a brilliant word to describe delectable donuts.

While damp, humid, muggy, soggy & watery mean the same, the description for donuts wouldn’t be done justice.

Moist, the word of the day👍

Just popped into Big C to stock up on plain croissants for breakfast & decided to get a couple of cream ones from the table by the entrance to eat in the way home. 39 baht each & they put them in a free plastic reusable shopping basket. Bit small to be honest but still free. I like free stuff

Just seen a sign in Mr DIY in the fruit market that they'll stop giving plastic carrier bags out from the 1st April. I assume this will be the same across all branches.

Need to remember your Bag For Life when buying armfuls of Chinese tat (or is this just me 😂)

If i remember correctly this should apply to all shops. But, like so many laws in Thailand, no information on how it will be inplemented and all those village shops and markets will just ignore it anyway.

I happened to find myself in Mr DIY again earlier, definitely from 1st April. If fairness to them, I refused a bag & they let me carry my armfuls of tat to the car in the shopping basket so I could empty it straight onto the back seat.

My experience for the last couple of months as a serial Chinese tat buyer at Mr. D.I.Y. has been if you can carry it or stick it in your pockets, no bag is offered. But if you go postal and clean out an aisle, they will break out their largest plastic bag without asking or charging. But looks like those days will be over come April.

Mission Impossible - Part 1. Caught just before the checkout at Big C this afternoon with a full shopping basket but neither my wallet nor the cavernous Tesco UK plastic shopping bag that I usually stick in my back pocket. Loath to purchase another of their small "disposable" plastic bags, I discovered the 5 baht paper sacks they have randomly secreted on some aisles.

Mission Impossible - Part 2. When you're almost 2 m tall, one can "hide" one's full shopping basket on a very high shelf for as long as it takes to go back to the car and get your wallet. (I suspect the short-ar$es can hide them on a low shelf too?)

Mission accomplished.

^ Mission possible part 2
Alternatively you could have just given the basket to the Duty Manager that sits in the island in the middle of the row of tills playing solitaire. They’re quite happy to keep an eye on your shopping (read ignore it) if you have to go back to the car

Good point... but I reckon I needed the exercise.
