Royal Project shop today, five huge fresh peaches in a box just 120 bht .
Sorry 180bht a box but they
DSCN2988.JPG
are delicious.
Anyone interested in the story behind the products available in this shop there is a book available in there called"From Poppies to peaches"it details how the late individual was instrumental in persuading the northern hill farmers to give up growing the lucrative opium poppies to produce the range of products sold by the Royal Project shops today.Very interesting read.

Ageing is a privilige denied to many .

taste was ok but the portion is far too small.

The hot plate counter is closed.
The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

Korean noodles The Fad for 2017

Post by wazza » July 24, 2017, 4:01 pm

Well it seems the Korean Chilli noodles with double spices are the In Thing at the moment, cant go to a supermarket or 7-11 without them being shoved in your face etc.

Makro has the packet of Chilli Chicken / Double Chilli spicy at 20% cheaper than Tops - 205 Vs 185 Baht

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those looking at buying Salmon / Octopus , the 2nd shop in Tops is approx 15% cheaper on the octopus per kg and 250 Baht / kg cheaper on salmon ( the one nearer the cold chiller displays )

It still doesnt beat buying a complete fresh salmon at Makro and averaging out at 600 / kg ( they arrive on Sundays and sell out fast as most smaller restaurants buy then also ) they do sell fresh cuts for 650 ? kg cryovac pkt

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tasmanian imported steak ( Greenham ) is 1390 / kg ( normally 1600 ?? and Tops will cut and cryovac to your preference . My purchase works out to be 190 Baht per piece. Ignore the Wagyu at 3400 / kg !!!!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tops have small packets of US cherries for 199 B , normally about 400 odd

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fresh scallops at Makro are still there, looks like a permanent item. 180 baht / kg in the shell

bit of work to chuck them and clean. just keep a nose on the ones you pick, as a few are smelling off occasionally,

OLd Tesco (NK Junction) have Branston Pickle (310gm) jars down from B199 to B139 on shelfs between the two sets of Aisles near fresh fruit area. Amazing to think we were paying well over B200 a few years ago.

Agreed that there are good bargains, but also plenty of "Rip off" over pricing .....

Golden Drop Corn Oil B98 in Tesco for as long as I can remember and B75 in Big C
Frozen Panang Meals/Macaroni/Spaghetti etc etc about B8-10 more in Tesco than Big C

Old Tesco (NK Jn) Heinz soups 400gm tins down from B119 to B59 (only noticed Pot & Leek/Veg/Ministronie, but may have been more) on a new sale stand in between the aisles near the fruit area. Also saw olive oil. herbs/spices and truffles (French sounding name in 2 varieties)

The Tesco Finest range and the imported goods stand next to it, appear to have been dismantled. I asked a Team Leader where they were, he looked at me like an alien, went off to ask someone one else, came back and took me round the store, he asked some else, no have no have they said in unison. I pointed out where the 2 stands had been for nearly 2 years. But no have was the only comment. Sad loss, even though it was never really properly stocked.

Good news is, they had the very expensive seasalt caramels 189 baht down to 58 baht.
