Unaware of how seriously SOME Brits you mean. The queues to pay respects to HM in Edinburgh in London would fill your average footie venue ten times over. All of them.stattointhailand wrote: ↑September 13, 2022, 6:38 pmAs a colonial cousin Uncle, perhaps you are unaware of how seriously we Brits take our football, which is probably best summed up with a quote attributed to the late great Bill Shankley ....

Not really. My life is full enough already to not have to worry about the cancellation of a football match. Nor will I wail and gnash my teeth over the death of someone who bears no relevance to my life. I think you'll find a very sizeable minority (being generous) of Brits just want to get on with their lives and not indulge in self flagellation.

Don't say that. Some members are liable to take you seriously.

For info, the BBC reported last night that 33,000 people went to Edinburgh. Over 1m people attend football matches every week ignoring those who play, help and watch at grass roots leveltamada wrote: ↑September 13, 2022, 11:22 pmUnaware of how seriously SOME Brits you mean. Re: EPL 2022 / 2023
Only 7 Week 8 fixtures will be played due to a train strike that has been called off, Leeds fans not being trusted to behave at Old Trafford and there being a severe risk that a section of Liverpool fans may commit the most outrageous sin and not sing or worse still boo the National Anthem at Stamford Bridge.

Predictions are being made far more complicated by team/players under performing. Most would be expected to improve on their early season form, but can they be trusted?

Newcastle 2 - 0 Bomo
