sure...3x2=6 or 3 doubled is six. Doubled up is a common term in the Great White North when a team wins or loses by scores such as 4-2, 6-3, 8-4 (more usually in baseball and hockey) or 28-14, 42-21 in CFL football.
I don't know what the guy from the U.S. is talking about. Obviously, he does not understand the Queen's English!
