Wouldn't know, lost all interest in F1 after Pit crew started driving the cars and the guy in them become a virtual passenger .......... That JPS Lotus was beautiful, and the advertising worked as I changed my brand of Cigs back then

Hamilton seals impressive come back from a 10 place grid penalty at Interlagos to keep Verstappen on the back foot.

A redneck like me prefers NASCAR. Rubbing fenders is more exciting. Obviously there is no fender rubbing with cars that have no fenders.

Verstappen gets the title.

Hamilton gets his gong.

New rules on cars for 2022 with major tire changes as well as innovative solutions to the "dirty air" issue and improved down force should add to sorting out the men from the boys.

Lewis had to adapt to a new way of driving this season. On the last three races of the season, he adopted the same "won't back down" attitude as Max, drawing equal censure as well as making Max gurn about the denied privelege he hasn't earned yet. Here's hoping F1 appreciates this change that Max has introduced to otherwise formulaic racing. Here's hoping Max can handle the challenge without getting totally batshit dangerous.

Checo causing Lewis to lose around 6 seconds during the race was within the rules. He didn't make any illegal zig-zag, double-blocking position changes and protected the line without brake checking or forcing others to run wide. That's what a viable wing man can do for a better positioned team mate. Unfortunately, Valtieri was a no-show at Abu Dhabi so Hamilton had to go all DIY (again).

^ Not so much Lewis as the MB domination for years. If he was a cocky bugger like Max, the gild would have come off his lilly ages ago. Non-confrontional in his chosen sport and apart from the odd expetive on team radio, I can't recall him blaming others when he gets it wrong. Even after a contentious race, he refuses to be drawn by the media during the post race interviews. He's truly in the mold of the British greats that preceded him, Moss, Clark, Surtees, Hill, Stewart, etc..

Verstappen is undeniably top-flight stuff. He is a Dutch national hero now so that's going to get years of mileage. I just hope that the new rules bless the other drivers of his generation with a competitive car. Red Bull had a great run before with the pushy, brash young Vettel. I'm looking for some significant progress at Aston Martin and he's the perfect fit for them right now.

The rules do need to have the vague "options" of track stewards, the race director and other F1 pontiffs either better defined or disallowed. MB pulled their appeal based on getting the governing bodies to investigate during the close season.

Now a lot of older F1 fans would argue that the burgeoning rule book is "killing the race" but the expansion in rules has mainly been to promote and ensure safety for everyone involved as the cars are way faster than the "good old days".

He got the grand slam: pole, win and fastest lap.

Another DNF for Verstappen while Russell got on the podium with Hamilton just behind him on porpoise.
