Well that was 90 mins wasted out my life .. Egland very very poor against Lithuania in kilts .. the jocks deserved the draw , whod of thought the only 2 England players to play well would be defenders
I can year Southgate now .. its always a tuff game against Scotland . ..hes way to negative , predictable and defensive needs sacking..

Sterling omg .. he was terrible as were most of the guys in white

Jocks 8/10
Eng 2 /10 ..

Couple of hours tossing n turning going over in my mind just how poor England were and also how close we were to loosing to such a small footballing nation as Scotland ... even mi dogs couldnt believe how poor the 3 lions were.
I totally agree with the comments of Graham Souness Roy Keane and Ian Wright .. AND THEN listening to Southgate saying exactly what was predicted .. this isnt about one bad result but this fella has to go .. he has a huge pool of talent yet cannot seem to make a team out of it .. his subs made no sense at all hes too old school defensive n predictable style doesnt suit the young exciting talent he has .. Grealish needs to start also Sancho n Bellingham werent used ..Rashford came on again to replace Kane (mistake Calvin Lewin shud ov ) n never touched the ball ..Southgate poor basic mistakes..

Player ratings
Pickford 7
James 6
Stones 6
Mings 7
Shaw 7
Rice 6
Phillips 5
Foden 6
Mount 6
Sterling 4
Kane 5

Well done to Scotland .. they played great star men .. Gilmor , Robertson , Mctominay in fact all ov em even walkabout willy Marshall had a good game with little to do he managed to stay actually in his goal =D>

Still should qualify but if we cant beat the Jocks .. and get out played by them we aint gonna beat any of the proper teams .

In summary England were crap ..toothless lions .. Scotland the brave ..

Bloody awful, in particular Kane and Sterling.
Surely Grealish must start now after another disjointed English midfield performance.
Well played Scotland.

^ Hard to believe that 40 places separate these two teams in the global footie standings.

Clarke made four changes from the team that lost to Croatia and has further validated his pre-tournament statement that he's spoiled for choices. Now he has a bigger pool of blooded resources for their OK Corral moment against Croatia. FWIW, Croatia have now played more games at Hampden than the Jockinese.

Meanwhile, an unchanged England line-up and another couple of episodes of "Where In The World is Harry Kane?" from Southgate's self-styled squad of legends PLAYING AT HOME. With their equally important showdown with Czech Rep and the free-scoring Schick, one would expect a lot of changes.

The Group of Death? Screw the frogs and krauts. This is it!

And now a song for (Harry and) England.

A disappointing result. Scotland the Brave deserved to win.

Well done to Scotland on probably finishing bottom of the group. Despite all the negativity England have pretty much qualified for the next round.

We were poor but, I dont agree that the Jocks deserved to win. A draw was fair despite, for some reason, VAR not reviewing a nailed on pen for Sterling.

I thought I would share this analysis from the Oz press.
As Scotland's fans celebrated riotously in the Wembley rain, the home supporters unleashed their frustration with a chorus of boos.

Such is the lot of England at a major tournament.

Win — even if it's scrappy, cagey win like that against Croatia — and England is a team of world beaters, set to bring football home and dominate for decades to come.

Failure to win — particularly if that failure involves a scrappy, cagey goalless draw like that against Scotland — and the Three Lions are immediately branded as toothless frauds......

Article meaningless Jack .. its from the Ozz press about football (not cricket)  rather like the Brit media offering an opinion on Aussie rules... pointless.

No excuses from me England were terrible Scotland excellent .. and it still ended honours even.

I have no doubt Mr Sloathgate is a very nice man but directly after this tournament he should step down and be replaced by a younger more progressive manager who offers a quicker attacking style of the game .. that would mean a foreign manager as no Brits have a CV to get them the job .. forget SG Erikson and Capello same old school as Southgate ..i like what Martinez has/is doing at Belgium.

I watched at a Corporate do last night and the panel of ex footballers all agreed that, if the legend that is Marcelo Bielsa had been in charge of the England squad, they would not only have thrashed the Jocks, they would win the tournament.

Maybe the panel was a hit biased. Anyone recognise these ex pros?

Maybe meaningless - but based on what I have read on here over many years, scarily accurate. 8)

I cannot believe that you even considered staying up to watch this DM :-k

Don't tell me you didn't expect this =;

England couldn't afford to win, as if they did, they would have to lose to CZ by about 3 goals to finish second.
This way (win and 2 draws) they are out of the group unbeaten, with an outside chance of progressing (as opposed to winning group and having a cats chance in hell).

I did tell you this much earlier in this thread DM,

Post by stattointhailand » June 13, 2021, 10:22 pm
Problem is we now need to drop points to the Jocks so as not to finish top of the group, and if we do the Jockinese will think they got them deservedly rather than us giving them coz we want second place.
Top
so you have only yourself to blame for even bothering to watch the cr*p ....(I turned off at about 1am after the cz/croat game and had a luverly nights sleep :-" )

^ Yes, Proof if ever it was needed that the little Englanders don't place any value on actually winning or proving themselves worthy against stiff competition. They would prefer to disappoint their fans by playing for a 'strategic draw' that gets them an easier path to getting royally stuffed in the semi's by a team they ran way from in the Round of 16.

Isn't that how we established an "Empire" in the first place tam ???

No sense fighting a war you might lose, wait till later when you stand a better chance of winning (Kylian Mbappe might get injured in round of 16 :-$ Maguire & Hendo may be fit)

^ That didn't work for Charlie at Culloden though did it?

Mind you, Maguire was an absolute beast that day.
