England 4-0. Kane hat trick. Keep the faith.

Scotland, without a player who cant get close to Chelskis first team, will go out. Was Gilmour really that good against England? Scots hyperbole again. I never noticed him.

Cos the Finns lost last night England have already gone thru to the last 16 .. with a game to spare .. so the only thing to decide from this group is between the Jocks n Croats ... on current form KANE COULD NOT SCORE A HATRICK AT A HABERDASHERY new year sale.

Mean while Wandering Willy Mc Marshall was last night detained by police for breaking quarantine restrictions and walking into the nearby town for some Lorne sausage and a pint of Tennents ... when questioned he said he had a nightmare flash back from the Cech second goal and thought he was still in his hotel room.

Hope the wee jammys beat the crows ..

That's what happens when your young midfield wizard catches Covid and the other team's midfield master wizard gets far too much room to maneuver. Scotland's first-half equalizer meant that Croatia would also be knocked out so their second half domination (and further Scots retreat) were a given. Modric was allowed to grow into the game and capped his command with a sublime goal of his own.

The upside is that already being home at Hampden, there won't be any media stalking the team as they come off a train/bus/plane and questions won't be raised in Holyrood.

The double upside is that Croatia, by finishing second in the group, now get the easy-peasy Round of 16 path so looking forward to them knocking England out later (again).

Croatia 3 Scotland 1... pretty well sumerised by Tam

Scooby doooooo the jocks managed a goal =D> =D> and they can crow about the 0-0 at Wembley for years to come , cant wait for the DVD in all good Scottish tescos and can be taken out every Christmas for the next 25 yrs until they qualify for another tournament.. already home but

Caption .. hoots marn cheer up at least we scored ... yeah but what aboot mi daft hat i cannae wear it for ages again noo... aye mee too and mi ginner wog.

Image

NOW THE SERIOUS BIT .. and the proper teams advancing

Cech Rep 0 - 1 .. slightly better performance than the Scotland one.. similar to Croatia game .. and im predicting the 3 lions will be going home not football after the next fixture as they are playing a quality side not the dross theyve been up against and struggled with so far.

Player ratings nothing over a 7 again except 1

Pickford 6
Shaw 7
Maguire 7
Stones 6
Philips 5
Rice 6
Walker 5
Grealish 7
Saka 7
DM 10
Sterling 6
Kane 5

^ I didn't read the England blow-by-blow (too busy greetin' intae ma porridge) but how did Maguire do? The Cz Rep team seemed a bit of a one-trick pony with the Schick guy netting three times in their earlier games. Did big Harry (as opposed to where in the f*ck is Harry) stifle their only goal scorer?

Who do England fancy facing next? France? Germany? Portugal?

It does look like Croatia have got the walk in the park that Dave Marshall would have enjoyed.

Tagged in RED .... hopefully If England loose in the next fixture it will be the end of Southgate ..un like Clarke who has done agreat job (WITH THE TALENT HE HAS /HASNT) Southgate simply cannot develop the humungus talent he has due to his predictable , lame defensive style ..hes gotta go home.

Enjoy yer porradge Jammy.

Very similar to the England v Croatia game in that England started well then fell away and it became a bit of a slog.
Star men were Saka and Grealish who both deserve to start the next game.
Maguire did OK, although he wasn't severely tested.
Sterling was better and looks like he is the only one who can score.
'Arry was poor again and, at this rate, only someone like Everton will be interested in signing him.
Whose up next? I think it could be Germany.
Sorry the Scots are out.... honest.

Zid ..do you want Southgate to stay as England coach ?? ... i think for the talent he has to utilize the play is predictable and tedious ..its like watching paint dry... the thought of England beating Germany France or Portugal is best saved for April 1st.

Kane for Scunthorpe more like .. hes been crap with a capital S

Let's see how we get on in, possibly, the next 2 games.
If we play well and beat two strong sides and make the semis maybe he should stay.
But if we play the usual dross and lose 0-2 at home to either Germany, Portugal, France or Hungary in the last 16,then he's got to go and become the new manager of Everton.

What's this I hear about Roy Hodgson becoming player manager at Scunthorpe at age 73. :D

England qualified at a canter to go into the easier half of the draw (despite what some seem to think). One win against Hungary (90% chance), Portugal (winnable), Germany (60/40) or France (doubtful) and, it's all downhill to the final.

The night was made more special as I took my head out of my a*** and won a packet backing Kane not to score.

As for the Scots, unsurprisingly they missed out due to a reserve team player not being fit.

To quote the late, great David Coleman, "They thought it may be over. Well it is now."

Despite the home advantage and a goalless first half, England were ground down and eventually dismantled by a resilient Germany 0-1 in their Round of 16 game. This ends yet another saga of high hopes dashed and keeps the fire of the three lions perpetual existential angst burning.

You read it here first.

Spain demolished the sadder than Scotland Slovs 5-0
i watched the cracking Swedes v Poles 3-2 to the Swedes..possibly best game of the tournament so far
Just seen both games in the group of death finished 2-2..

Heys see uz Jammy ..... 3 Lions v Jermans is a pretty even match up nowadays so we will see ... can i detect a wee tad of bitterness ther Tammy ???? ..... in the meantime Scotland are OUT and theres a few gems circulating.

I reckon if England put in a decent shift they can beat the krauts ..sorry i mean Jerrys .. reset ..i mean our German friends.. to gain an upper hand the English should arrive very early in the morning and put their towels on all the chairs.
