Pleased for NZ and, really hope they win the tournament now. Turning down a single when Rashid was impeded at a critical stage says it all about a team who plays hard and fair. They deserved the win.

Disappointed in England though. I didnt think we would go out on the back of a poor bowling performance. Even after Woaķes had taken 2 vital wickets in his opening spell, I messaged my son to say he had been lucky and was bowling erratically. Never seen Jordan bowl as badly as that.

Neesham got into Jordan's head, and that one over gave the kiwis belief and had England questioning every move from then on

Dont think i've ever seen that before ...

Mohammed Hafeez bowling Econ of 54.00 per over
1st ball was a no ball and got spanked for 6
2nd ball (counts as first legal ball) 2 runs
Therefore 6 + 1 + 2 = 9 from 1 ball = econ 54,00

Was that the 2nd s/f or a re run og the first?

Rrr up to 12 with 5 overs left fielding side in total control then bowlers all freeze 6's all over the place annd chasing team home with 6 balls to spare again

Gotta feeling the tournament favorites will fall to our South Pacific cousins.
Not sure about Pakistan , the Aussie have a power packed batting lineup. If they fire as a group.
Hope the 4 man NSW bowling squad can hold the run rate.
Absolute unbiased opinion
Aussie Kiwi final.

My unbiased prediction is going to plan,
Weaker teams have been found out with the Southern Hemisphere teams back where they should be, on top.
Good luck to our kiwi mates next game.

A precursor of the final :-k
New Zealand's Devon Conway ruled out of men's T20 World Cup final against Australia after suffering broken hand

New Zealand's Devon Conway has been ruled out of the men's T20 World Cup final against Australia after he broke his right hand by punching his bat during the Black Caps' win over England........

My understanding is that he will be replaced in the lineup by an all-rounder by the name of Charles Darwin. 8)

Yeah, right :D

Cant see the Aussies beating Pakistan.

England, without Roy, are a different team. Bairstow will open but, he's been struggling. Malan doesn't play well in these conditions and Morgan is another out of form. In spite of this, I still think we will have too much for NZ and, will win.

Fine margins though so, a lot will depend on the toss in both games.

spot on prediction from samster .........fine margins dependent on the toss ......... as both proved to be

Yeah. My predictions 100% wrong! Barney was 100% right but, putting bias aside, I do feel both games would have had different results if the toss had gone the other way. That's cricket though.

Come on NZ...!!

Well it’s done and dusted. My unbiased opinions and predictions coming to the fore.
I’ll finish with another totally unbiased review.

Australia have quietly gone about business and taken the cup. Surprisingly their first one to place on the mantle piece.
Kane Williamson showed his class at the finish with the bat but not enough runs with the powerful Aussie first 6 batsmen following.
Tournament favorites and arguably the top 20/20 team were never in the hunt at the important end of the tournament after bullying their way earlier over some cricket minions.
The Pakistanis had a good crack but no chocolates.
Kiwis rounded off a very good tournament by reaching the final.
Alas it was against the best cricket side in the world as I write.
Marsh player of the final and the supposed out of form Warner man of the series.
A lot of confidence for us going into the ashes now with a definite 5-0 whitewash looming for the poms.

The best team lost.

No pleasure in beating New Zealand. Like the 1st 11 playing the 4th 11 or beating up your 8 year old brother when you are 14. It's just to be expected. Anyway regular programming has resumed in the world of cricket. Bring on the Ashes. I'm starting to smell a 5 - 0 summer.

Must admit it still irks me to see those ' sandpaper ' boys still playing at top level..

That was my immediate thought when I saw that Scotland got beaten by Namibia a couple of weeks ago. ;)

Poms arrived in australia and had to suffer the quietly celebrating new world champions on the same long haul flight.
I imagine the World Cup trophy did a few laps up and down the aisles for the losers to appreciate how a dignified celebration should occur.
