Good to see the Aussie captain and team finally win a match and the series 1-0
Pat Cummins as capt held his nerve and made made a brave declaration.
The lower batting order of Pakistan has been found out when left exposed.

Well Statts England are trying hard to get a result with the WI’s.
At least there’s still encouragement to be had for the supporters in the fact that the 3 blokes who got all their first innings runs are at the crease or about to come in.

Its pitiful. 2nd rate batters and 2nd rate bowlers.

As predicted, the ladies qualified for the WC semi finals and will meet SA before one of the 2 get spanked in the final by Australia.

Between innings in the Ladies World Cup semi with England posting 293-8. That should be enough if England are on it in the field. SA weren't with some pretty embarrassing lapses costing them, conservatively, 100 runs.

New Aussie coach gets the official nod. Poms will probably say they developed him.

Nah ..... If they want to play this, why dont they get them to run around the square instead of up & down, then you could have 4 batters on the bases and done with it. Change the shape of the bat, keep the concept of trying to hit everything out of the ground, and it may just catch on with yankee TV audiences

Dont think theres a cricket thread for the 19th century so I'll post this here.

Not so much for the news about England's 2nd best cricketer of all time but for the wind up of Englands greatest (in his opinion) highlighted in the feature. Sir Geoffrey at his best

Whats happening at Lords? unbeaten 66 for for 5th wicket so far. Has someone finally remembered what their bat is for or have the bowlers gone for a beer?

"3.40pm Whodathunkit? An unbroken partnership of 70. A session with just the one wicket in it. One. What has the world come to? At the end of it, New Zealand are ahead by 119 with six wickets in hand, which either means they're well in control on a pitch that's still a difficult one to bat on, or, or, that this match is still perfectly balanced on a pitch that's getting better and better to bat on."

Strange set of scores with both teams failing to get going in the first dig.
Kiwis now 209 in front still with their 6 wickets in hand and perhaps 2 batsmen heading for centuries.
Will definitely be a result as it’s only day 2.
