Well that was a fizzer! England would have been better off having a player testing +ve for Covid and not fronting up on Sunday.

I am pretty sure the idea had been discussed.

It's like watching basketball. In 1 out of 100 games the last 2 minutes might be mildly interesting. Every other game is crap.

Don't see too many test matches these days where the ball dominates the bat like it did in this one. I think that if Hazlewood had have been fit the poms would have been rolled for 60 in both innings and we wouldn't have needed day 3.

Poms must be praying for Omicron to intervene. They'll be licking hand rails and door handles once they get to sin city.

Only suggested it because most of the innings in the BB last longer, and score a lot more runs, than the Poms 2nd dig.

Australia thrash feeble England to retain Ashes at Melbourne.

Amy Lofthouse at the BBC:
...thrash feeble England...
...England meekly surrendered...
...England offered the weakest of resistance...
...an abysmal performance...

Well the 2 teams are confirmed.
Can the Aussies go 4 blot or can the poms make a game of it?
I think the weather may decide any result.

I don't see much hope for the Poms if Extras is not in the squad.

The (Lost English) Boys of (the Aussie) Summer.

I know were pretty Desperado, but no need for Don Henley yet .....(wasn't he a septic?)

No room for Sandy Paper in the Aussie X1 then

"we may lose, and we may win, but we will never be here again, so open up i'm climbing in" ....... oo 'ang on a mo .... were due back in 4 years

Faark no - we're only playing the Poms.

Save the tricks for real competition. 👍

In 4 years time there will probably be a similar result. At least Everton is up and down. It's usually all down for cricketers touring Australia.

Unfortunately the usual Sydney rain will persist and the stop start nature will continue.
But at least the rain may cause the test to go for 5 days. Something unusual with a match with this Pom outfit.

England First Innings:67 for 4 (31.3 overs)

Or, in simpler terms.
