OK, I'm CLEARLY missing something here...........

England needed about 140 runs to win with 6 wickets in hand, and have approx 7 sessions left to get them in. The way I see that is you need to score at about 16 - 20 runs per 100 balls which equates to less than ONE run per over, and you dont need to take even half a risk, but will still win with 2 sessions to spare. Why then is that 42 carat plonker Stokes risking his wicket trying to launch the ball out of the ground?

Touch of the Andrew Windsors at the end ...... no sweat

Joe storms (plods) to another unbeaten ton passing 10000 on the way

I like Ben Fowkes 89 good balls and 3 bad un's in his innings he treated the good uns with respect and dispatched the other 3 to the boundary .... proper test batting =D> =D> =D>

After watching the IPL for the past few months seemed a damn slow game watching Stokes and Root plodding along.

Good win though for the Poms.

Just saw Joe Root make 100  . Very, very, very rare occurrence for an Australian cricket fan. Well done the home side.

Perhaps if the Australia Cricket fan spent more time watching the game and less in the beer tent he would be quite used to seeing Joes tons

Nah Statts. He doesn't make 100s against us - we bowl a bit quick. Well not since 2015. He hasn't looked like getting one on his three tours of Australia. I think Steve Smith has made 8 against your mob in that time even with the sandpaper suspension.

Flicking between the cricket and Essendon v Carlton 150 year anniversary match in the footy. Cricket slow, blues controlling the footy.

47 - 0 at drinks. Poms won the toss and bowled  Baggers well ahead of the dons at 1/2 time in the footy.

Wow good innings so far from the kiwis.
4-318 stumps. RR 3.6 a good rate after 87.

Slow over rate caused by constant trips to the bloody boundary to collect the ball

Unfortunately he’s already 0-78.
He may be the first Pom to make 100 this test. One would hope not and Joe can save the day again.

At last 405 - 5

"Leach to Blundell, OUT

miscued to mid-off, England finally break the stand! Just a hint of turn outside off stump, and Blundell was looking to pound it down the ground for four. But he mistimed his shot, hacking it straight to Stokes who took a straightforward catch at mid-off. Blundell goes for 106 and after 236 runs and 67.2 overs, the partnership is over"

Leach 2nd top score with 117.

Must be a good batting pitch.
Maybe a double century from Joe will be required. Might be a day 5 finish though.
5-447
600 would be daunting
