Do you really want to change managers at this point in the tournament? England seems to be doing better than Argentina and Germany at this point. Take it easy for the moment. Fire him, if need be, at the end of the World Cup of Soccer.
I meant get sack him after the tournament ... UNLESS England win it    Which they wont ..in fact i will walk 5 laps of Nong Prajak wearing only a flowery hat and high heels if they do.

The soccerooooz squeak past Tunasia .. in another so so game .

Not been many really good exiting games yet all a bit predictable except the Saudi n Jap.results .. hoping Poland v Saudi A ihas a few goals.

Seems the tournament is a tad unusal... no booze fans not allowed entry cos of fancy dress being worn and now .locals complaining to the police abiut fans singing ..

Hopefully lesson learned fir Fifa when choosing future locations ..i doubt it tho..

Denmark may be leaving Fifa ..if so possible others will follow including England ...interesting and this may allow Scitland to quailfy fir a future WC that has lower quailty teams playing in it ..

Tam Tam ..there is hope

What was it with the Polish hackers in that opening 45? They managed maybe four yellow cards? Looked like they were mightily frustrated by the press and speed from the Saudis. They only got the edge as the Saudis ran out of gas but they benefited from the Saudis profligate waste of open goal opportunities.

There's counseling available for those with insecurities. Better hurry and get some before the Englanders drop in the last 16.

True story: we all know the Englanders cheekily suggest "don't mention the war" when dealing with the Germans. The Germans have "don't mention 1966" when dealing with Englanders.

PS: We know we're dogshit, always have been. You'll find life less stressful when you admit the Englanders are and always will be a one hit wonder.

What a great win last night! Such a wonderful achievment. And the soccer was pretty good too. Hey Jack :D
A win full of Aussie passion, work rate, determination and will to win. And the soccer was pretty good too.
Just imagine what we could achieve if soccer was played by our decent athletes and was a mainstream sport! No doubt we would have already won at least half a dozen of these World Cup thingies. You know, it's the Aussie way.

Is that a confession that they were the source of the leaking of game livestreams that FIFA were bailing up on the Thai government about? It must be perilous doing deals with this lot when everyone's brother, his dog and government minister has either their hand out or are elbow-deep in the cookie jar.

Big shout out to Luke Shaw and The Grauniad sports desk for invoking this timely reminder of England’s humiliating defeat by Iceland at Euro 2016.

No it is gpoing exactly as I thought a shambles in Qatar, over zealous security, poor accomodation etc, and outside, stopping of transmission not only here but also it seems to Saudi Arabia.
A FIFA cock-up from the word GO .

Judging by what I read in the Oz press today, it was a semi-final win I guess.

Who do they meet in the final?

Their "final" is against the Danes, to see who sneeks out of the group and into the cup proper

Christ you guys give a whole new perspective of grumpy old men!

Personally, I would have settled for a scenario where we had all but qualified with a game to spare and then be in the lottery of a knockout tournament.

Not sure if Tamada actually believes what he says or is just doing it to wind the English up but, I will again, be proud to see us amongst the best 16 in the world in a truly global tournament that only 8 countries have won. We have no divine right to do well but, we consistently do under Southgate so, well done,

As for bringing Scotland into this, they are, as a footballing nation, embarrassing.

 I would have suggested "realists" not grumpyoldmen

3 attempts without being able to beat a bunch of cowboys (1950/2010/2022) who's all time greatest players are Clint Dempsey & Landon Donovan, you think that is even acceptable?

Bringing Hendo/Grealish on when the score was 0 - 0 ...... that's supposed to be OK? (Neither of those could score even from the pen spot with the keeper taking a seat in the crowd)

Leaving qualification still up in the air when a 1 - 0 victory would have seen them through and able to rest players ..... NO that is certainly not acceptable. England have the players what they lack is a coach with the slightest idea of in game management ...... It cost England in last WC, it cost England in the Euros and it will cost them in Qatar ...... STILL HE WONT LEARN

Although they did hold us to a draw in the Euros, Barry. I don't see myself as grumpy, more highly strung and excitable.
