Newcastle fans are going to raise human rights issues but supporting the takeover. Another club joins the band of hypocrites headed by Brighton and Villa recently.
LUFC, again taking the moral high ground (until we are taken over by Qatar).

Re: English Premier League 2019/20
A number of Premier League club doctors have expressed their concerns about the ‘Project Restart’ plans with league bosses.
The BBC first reported on Tuesday morning that concerns had been raised by club doctors, with one issue being that senior medics are seeking assurances over their own liability and insurance cover if a player contracts the virus.
And now in a new report from The Athletic on Tuesday night, they claim medics at clubs have outlined their concerns to the Premier League in a 100-point letter.
The letter, which The Athletic claim they have seen, is reportedly split into 10 subject areas and within each of them it warns of multiple concerns that medics believe have not yet been addressed, including:
- Approving guidelines that still carry risk of death
- Liability, insurance and testing for players, staff and their families
- Possible transmission via sweat and goalkeeper gloves
- Suspicions that some clubs are already ignoring guidelines
- Increased risk for black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) groups
- Ability of emergency services to attend training ground incidents
The Athletic believe medics were invited to send their points anonymously to the Premier League Doctors Group on Sunday and these were collated before being forwarded to Mark Gillett and Richard Garlick on Monday.
Medics are looking for the Premier League to provide some clarity over medical protocols, testing and player welfare.
The government is set to review it’s lockdown measures at the weekend, with the Premier League meeting to vote on plans next Monday.

I really dont see the reasoning why all these clubs n officials are pushing to get a re start n finish the season .. just cancel it , surely thats the sensible option amid this crisis .. your post does bring up some interesting points .. seems to me its all down to money tv rights and contracts as usual.. never mind the serious dangers it will cause to all involved..

The footballing authorities in the UK and Europe have exacted revenge on us one hundred fold since with some bizarre and discriminatory judgements which would take pages to document.

Why is everyone so worried about prem finishing ........ just ask them in Stockley park what the last 92 results are gonna be after all they (and they alone) decided the first 288 not the players/managers or teams.. If it were down to football the current table would look nothing like it does

A blast from the past Statto .. decades upon decades ago when LUFC were a big successful club club ... now so close to a return from the years n years n years in the footballing wilderness but possibly scuppered by C19... Leeds fans around the world including the 4 in Thailand must be nipping their collective arses to see the outcome of season 2019/20 ..stattointhailand wrote: ↑May 7, 2020, 1:08 amThought i'd add this link in case any of the LUFC guys dont get access to Irish TV progs

Re: English Premier League 2019/20
It is a sad reality DM. I can see many football clubs going under.
You've mentioned that, for many, football isn't a priority but, I would argue that it is. The UK relies heavily, in lockdown, on external entertainment which, like it or not involves sport for a huge proportion of the population. It improves morale significantly and should be designated as a priority in terms of resources.
As for LUFC, it will be a disgrace if we aren't promoted but, we are used to being shafted so, will just be another kick in the balls. What is more important is the future financial health of the club. Rightly, the club were geared up for the EPL next season and, if we are denied this off the pitch, we will be in a worse position that Scunny.

The Bundesliga's restart next weekend has already had its first balloon popped with league 2 Dynamo Dresden team quarantined after 2 players tested positive.
Just give it up FFS and cancel the season like the Dutch did last month.
