Winter Olympics

Post by Brian Davis » February 16, 2018, 5:08 am

Well done to the GB Women's CURLING team for their latest victory. But "we showed character and guts" does rather stretch the imagination.
They'll be "having balls" in the synchronised swimming next! :-k

After close examination I've not spotted any balls yet.

Shock horror the Women's Ice Hockey final will be between the Americans and the Canadians (cant actually remember the last time that an Women's Olympic or World Championship final WAS NOT contested between America and Canada)

This why the IOC is considering removing women's ice hockey from Olympic competition. Canada vs. the U.S.A. in the final consistently is a bit boring. Canada is sending a number of hockey coaches to various countries after the Games to try to improve the calibre of play. Also, Canada wants other countries to make hockey more attractive to women by providing better incentives, improved facilities, and making more ice time available to the ladies. Thailand, by the way, has a female hockey team. They beat the Philippines 21-1, but lost to Japan 37-0
