SILVA TARGETING BIG NAME SIGNINGS

New Everton boss Marco Silva laughed off suggestions he could be looking to sign Watford players and says he wants to bring in 'big names'.

So ......... more of the same at Emerton next season ............ or may be he'll go for 4 or 5 BIG NAME Number 8's :lol:

I'm delighted that the Toffees remain the focus of so much positive attention. Not that I'm an attention seeker.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasnt ? He might have been better keeping quiet about it as it could come across as an excuse.
If you have concussion surely you feel bad enough to signal to the bench and get the sub keeper on.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Nice to see that the gooners are looking "long term" with their signings ............ picking up a 34 yr old defender when most teams are getting shot of anyone over 30 or at least only offering one year extensions to contracts (he's played umpteen years in Serie A so he's gonna be slow anyway even if he were young) ... who next? John Terry? Jonny Evans? Glen Johnson? Ashley Cole?

"‘EVERTON NEED TO OFFLOAD PLAYERS’

Everton will need to "offload" a number of players this summer in order to raise transfer funds, according to the club's new director of football Marcel Brands.

The Toffees spent over £200m last season to bring the likes of Jordan Pickford, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Cenk Tosun to Goodison Park, only to finish eighth in the Premier League.

When asked if club owner Farhad Moshiri would provide a similar transfer fund to last summer, Brands said: "No. First of all we need to offload players to raise money [to spend], and also salary-wise. But it's not only a money thing.

"Of course money is important but also, for a coach, it is not workable to start with 38 players in your squad. We have to look for a squad Marco Silva can work with and I think there always has to be space for young players to come to the first team.

"That has to be, let's say, 25-30 players. Now there are 38 and a lot are not young any more. They are players who have arrived. We have to be honest when we take the decision with these players.

"Do they have prospects here at Everton? Some of the conversations will not be nice but I think Marco must start with a squad that everyone is eager to play for and has prospects to play."

Roughly translated .... We f***ed up big time and now we have to try to get back to where we were before =;

So it turns out it wasn't Karius fault (never is) and they were hard done to (always are). Day 11 and they're still whining. How they've the nerve to call us bitter I don't know. Never encountered a more self righteous, delusional, chips on their shoulder bunch of supporters

After ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE CONSECUTIVE NONSENSICAL POSTS, devoted entirely to two clubs, surely time to give this thread a name more appropriate to fit both the personal needs of posters concerned, and their subject matter =; :-k . I have thought of a number of very fitting names, but dare not suggests them here, for fear of being banned! 8-[ :-" I see the same situation, with the same culprits, applies to the Rumours thread, and the Europeans Cups thread. Since the content of their posts on these two threads are pretty much repetitive, and equally boring, perhaps they could be encouraged to keep them all in this one place. :-k

A new EPL thread 2018-18 could then be started for use by fans seriously interested in the 20 club competition, and FOOTBALL in general, as an entity. In other words the EPL thread could revert to the format which worked so very well, and was so much appreciated by members, for over a decade, before the small tight knit group of new wave of 'comedic wannabees' took total control. Under my suggestion these latter members could continue to have their own private thread, as is now virtually the position, without the necessity to yet again commandeer the 'proper' EPL thread for the 2018-19 season. =D> :D

If only, if only, Everton had been relegated, then the problem would have been solved, or at least inherited by DM. \:D/ \:D/ . Allardyce really is the villain in this case; for, once again, proving he remains one of the best, and most unappreciated, Managers in football. [-X
