Yes, isn't it great? Hotty Toddy! Bo Wallace had a great game at quarterback for Ole Miss.

This sterling game was not televised in my area, but the main point is that the Johnny Rebs beat Tech giving them a 2-1 lead in Bowl games between Ole Miss and Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets won a Sugar Bowl in the mid-'50s and the Rebels trounced Georgia Tech in the 1972 Peach Bowl.

To read the summary of this game check, http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootbal ... ISS@GATECH

In other games,

Alamo Bowl: Oregon Ducks (11-2) 30 Texas Longhorns (8-5) 7
Holiday Bowl: Texas Tech Red Raiders (8-5) 37 Arizona State Sun Devils (10-4) 23

It is appropriate to shout out,
Hotty Toddy
Simply the best damned fight song in the history of college sports, "Hotty Toddy" can be heard at any Ole Miss football game, whether on the road or at home in Oxford at the Grove and in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Hotty Toddy starts with the simple question - "Are you ready?"

The crowd responds:

Hell yes!
Damn Right!
Hotty Toddy, Gosh almighty
Who the hell are we?
Hey!
Flim Flam, Bim Bam
Ole Miss, By Damn!

Lots of catching up here from the past two days. Only one game, South Carolina vs. Wisconsin was shown in my area. Connor Shaw had a great game for the 'Cocks as he threw for 3 td's, caught a td pass and ran one in as South Carolina (11-20) outscored the Wisconsin Badgers, 34-24 in the Capital One Bowl.

Independence Bowl - Arizona Wildcats (8-5) 42 Boston College Eagles (7-6) 19

Sun Bowl - U.C.L.A. Bruins (10-3) 42 Virginia Tech Gobblers 12 (8-5)

Liberty Bowl - Mississippi State Bulldogs (7-6) 44 Rice Owls 7 (10-4)

Chick-Fil-A-Bowl - Texas A&M Aggies (9-4) 52 Duke Blue Devils 48 (10-4)

Gator Bowl - Nebraska Cornhuskers 24 Georgia Bulldogs 19
The 'Dawgs lost another one in the last minute. Their receiver dropped a 4th down pass around the Nebraska 5 with about 20 seconds left.

I hit the submit button too early,

Heart of Dallas Bowl - North Texas State Eagles (9-4) 36 Nevada Las Vegas (7-6) 14

Outback Bowl - L.S.U. Tigers (10-3) 21 Iowa Hawkeyes (8-5) 14
I am surprised this game was close as I thought the Tigers might get a shutout; however, L.S.U. had a freshman quarterback starting his first game of the season.

Rose Bowl - Michigan State Spartans (13-1) 24 Stanford Indians (11-3) 20. A nice win for Sparty.

Fiesta Bowl - Central Florida Knights (12-1) 52 Baylor Bears (11-2) 42. A big upset here as Baylor was supposed to cruise to an easy victory.

Two REALLY outstanding games here. Not having a dog in the fight, I love to root for the underdog, making Central Florida game a joy to watch. One humorous fopaux by the announcer calling them the "black" knights.

And what about that Rose Bowl Game?! They'll be showing highlights of some of those pass catches (AND "trick" plays)for years to come. Very exciting to watch.

Since I was in the village for New Years I had to watch these as reruns, but I intentionally did not tune into any media to spoil the results beforehand.
Every day I wake up is a good day.

Yes, Central Florida was delightful to watch this year. Their only loss was to South Carolina. The Knights have seemingly risen from nowhere to move right up there and surpass Florida, Miami, and who knows, maybe even Florida State. They should end up in the Top Five.

Army is the Black Knights.

Boomer Sooner !!! Yes, the Oklahoma Sooners led by a freshman quarterback, Trevor Knight not Trevor Black Knight, beat the Alabama Crimson Tide, 45-31 in the Sugar Bowl last night.

Again this game was not shown in my area except on special cable tv. It was a real shock, and does not bode well for Alabama next year, but it is good news for Oklahoma.

I forgot to mention that both the Tide and the Sooners ended up 11-2 for the year.

Missouri (11-2) gets a chance to face an old foe when it meets Oklahoma State (10-2) in the Cotton Bowl. Looking forward to seeing my home-state Missouri Tigers do well in a major bowl appearance.

Missouri wins the Cotton Bowl 41 to 31 over OSU! Great game! Got to watch it on the Fox Sport channel. Exciting finish with a forced fumble and recovery run back for a touchdown by the Tigers.

Tigers win! Tigers win! Yes, both Clemson and Mizzou pulled off upsets in good games by defeating Ohio State and Oklahoma State respectively. The only game I could see was Mizzou-Cowboys on Fox. Both quarterbacks made some great plays only to follow with some bonehead mistakes. I was glad to see Mizzou win. Even better was to see the darling of the media, Ohio State, fall to the Clemson Tigers. Braxton Miller did not look very good on this night...judging from the highlights.

Orange Bowl: Clemson Tigers (11-2) 40 Ohio State Buckeyes (12-2) 35
Clemson's two losses this year came at the hands of South Carolina and Florida State.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootbal ... LEM@OHIOST

Cotton Bowl: Missouri Tigers (12-2) 41 Oklahoma State Cowboys (10-3) 31
This game was a defensive struggle for the first three quarters - Mizzou led 17-7 - then all heck broke loose in the fourth quarter. Mizzou's two losses this season were to South Carolina and Auburn.

Happily, the TV powers-that-be permitted us to watch the Golden Girls from Mizzou do a bit of shakin' during the half-time show, which is far more entertaining than those marching bands they have in the Big Ten.

In a very odd game yesterday, Vanderbilt piled up 24 points in the first half to lead Houston 24-0. However, in the third quarter the Cougars got all 24 back and the game was tied heading into the final quarter. The Commodores scored 17 unanswered points to beat Houston, 41-24. This gives topsy-turvy a new meaning.

Compass Bowl: Vanderbilt Commodores (9-4) 41 Houston Cougars (8-5) 24

The SEC is now 7-2 in Bowl games this season.

A delightful and entertaining game it surely was with the Seminoles winning with 13 seconds left. Unhappily, I only got to see the first half as the power went out...it is -40 C this morning. I was hoping Auburn would win and things were going that way as the War Eagles had a 21-10 lead at the half and seem to have bamboozled the State quarterback.

BCS Championship: Florida State Seminoles (14-0) 34 Auburn Tigers (12-2) 31

Georgia Bulldogs punter, Brett Thorson, is another product from Prokick Australia, who have produced many kickers for the NFL and NCAA.

Yes, without their Australian kicker, the Georgia Bulldogs surely would have lost to the Texas Christian Horned Frogs. Georgia won over TCU, 65-7.
