0:1 Prinz (20.)
0:2 Behringer (22.)
1:2 Carney (24.)
1:3 Kulig (50.)
2:3 Smith (55.)
2:4 Gings (62.)
2:5 Grings (73.)

Yellow Cards: Stoney (England)

Germany wins their 7th women's football European Championship.
It would be nice to see the same national teams and same result for the World Cup final in South Africa. :D

michael, youre not a gerry by chance are you lad ?
what happens if russia beats you in the qualifiers which is very likely.its the lottery of the play offs for Germany.
wouldnt it be a shame if you missed out on the finals like possibly portugal, france and argentina.

Germany 1 England 5 never forget \:D/

Gerry? Well, I am certainly not a pom. ;) All Germany has to do is go level the next two matches to qualify at the top of their group. Losing very likely? Not likely at all, but anything is possible in football- even England made it to a World Cup final- once.

Oh, yes, I remember that 5:1 match: a competitive match for the 2002 World Cup- Germany made it to the final championship match and England was knocked out in the quarter final. I also know that England’s record in competitive matches against Germany is 3 wins, 6 losses and 2 draws.

How did Euro 2008 go for England? I just cannot remember. That is right, they did not even make it. \:D/

Michael,
Statistically a very good reply but,as we all know,it is now that counts and statistics dont really mean that much.
I,personally, think Germany will do well to avoid defeat in Russia and if they do avoid defeat they will certainly deserve automatic qualification to South Africa.
The World Cup finals just wouldnt be the same without the likes of Germany and Argentina.
Thank goodness teams like Spain,Holland,England and Australia have already qualified. 8)
Good luck.
