N E V E R
I supported my local non league side Romford, and West Ham (the local "Big" club) came to Brooklands to play in the first match to be played under the new floodlights.
In those days, I worked part time behind the club bar, and the staff all had their piccy taken with the cup after the game.
Pretty good huh, bit like "name dropping" really, but it sure as hell beats "I know the lady in Tesco's who does the ordering for .........."
Just think, the guy in the Anfield trophy room has had to clean the bit of the FA Cup that statto kissed!!

Re: FA Cup (football)
The "Hockey match" was rubbish, and the interview was no better. Hopefully I have the only copy still in existance. It was quite funny though, the week after, I was in Belfast for a match, and had loads of people tell me that they had seen me on TV and asking for an autograph.

Re: FA Cup (football)
Ah errr mmmm, so it is you Statt... errrr nice haircut...
Sidenote:
We used to throw trivia questions around in work. One day one goes out(1985), "Who were the last 4 Irishmen to play at Wembley?"
So we are thinking Fa Cup Final, Frank Stapleton, Kevin Moran, Paul McGrath, Kevin Sheedy. "No wrong after that..." So we wrack our brains (I had one back then) but we are stumped.
Answer: U2 at Live Aid... He got a bit of this...

Re: FA Cup (football)
Didn't Bob Geldoff play later with McCartney/Clapton/etc; if he did, only 3 of U2 were the in the last 4 Irishmen to play at Wembley
P.S I'd only just had about 12 ins cut off when that photo was taken

Hadn't thought of Geldof... Don't know where our question master is these days. Actually that would rule out Bono as technically he doesn't play he sings mostly (he does carry a guitar now and again).stattointhailand wrote:Didn't Bob Geldoff play later with McCartney/Clapton/etc; if he did, only 3 of U2 were the in the last 4 Irishmen to play at Wembley

Anyway to get back on topic... LIVERPOOL FOR THE CUP. And the lads can bring it with them when they visit Steven Gerrard in Walton nick.
