best day and time (quietest) to cross the border?

Post by ting_tong » November 22, 2008, 8:25 pm

If anyone can fill me in on what would be the best day and time to cross the Lao border, it sure would be helpful.

Sucks to get stuck in long lines and long waiting.

Weekdays without a doubt, I've always crossed between 10am and 2pm and been back in Thailand within 45 mins.

Leave the weekends alone, totally different story from my experiences.

main problem is just arriving behind a bus and waiting to get laos entry visa and immagration on both sides, judging from amount of laos cars in udon at wee end ,going out on a sunday and returning late friday would be a nonstarter to me
