have you gave them fertilizer yet ? by now roots have formed so a granular feed will go well this time of year. TOP TIP. never follow instructions for the fertilizer, what ever it says to use half the amount and feed it twice as often.
Not thought about that to be honest. It seems to be doing alright with just Mother Nature.

(Have you got any beef stew left in takeaway containers, maybe in the freezer? Don’t know why but I’ve got a real hankering for stew today)

yes mate there's a dozen in the freezer, maybe you'd like to try a piece of cherry and coconut cheese cake to go with it or cumberland sausage and mash with a giant Yorkshire ?

Well that’s decided then, I was sitting here pondering life in general but this now sounds like a plan.
Everything goes well in a giant Yorkshire, I’m thinking the cherry & coconut cheesecake to complete the meal.

What time for the sossigs n maaaarsh? I’m guessing the puds will be best straight from t’oven

Moving swiftly back on topic, I’m going to leave the grass for today

Yai has decided to cut the new grass with shears. Apparently it’s better which I actually get, a clean slice of the grass blade over a spinning lawn mower severing the top has got to be good.

I can’t be getting in the way so I’ll leave her to it 👍

I think our neighbour over did it a bit a few years back planting coconuts in his back yard. He’s been giving me loads everyday because I happened to mention a few years back I really like to drink them fresh from the tree.
I do actually like them although was only trying to be polite when he offered one the first time 😂

Quite chuffed with this years turf. Looks like another trim is imminent

Even though a bit valleyish and uneven (like the surface of the moon allegedly) the texture and colour get you over the line with an 8 out of 10 ... you should get KPs gardener round to give you some tips and got for a 9 or even 10.

Enjoy the mowing

I have tried them from my tree, but they don't seem to taste as sweet as the ones, you buy from the street stalls. Coconut trees are about six years old.

Maybe the tree needs to be older??

My neighbours coconuts are lush & always really full of water. We bought the land for the house from them in 2017 & he claims to have planted most of the trees then ready for us moving in so they’re not that old.

You’re right about the sweetness though, I’m not nearly 60 but could be dripping in honey 🤫

Just gave the grass a quick short back & sides but light failed so pictures of the freshly manicured blades will have to follow.

This has all been my own work, no mention of relations who can’t be mentioned

I use a powered drive 21” rotary mower with a Honda engine. It’s just right. Maybe a bit wider cut would be nice but I wouldn’t be able to get it down the side of the house to the back garden easily.

This section has come out okay considering it’s laid on concrete “air” blocks. Don’t actually know the correct term. It’s sort of cross cross blocks so you can put a car on there without churning to mud if it’s wet.

Might get another 150m of sods for another section if the rain really comes. My imaginary gardener says they want something to do. At least I imagine they did……. err, lol

I went & mowed the verge opposite our neighbours earlier because I was getting irritated by the 2 foot long weed grass I have to drive past to get to our house.
I successfully managed to bugger up the powered rear axle on the mower.
Hopefully a strip down tomorrow will fix it

Golden Tortoise Beetle (ด้วงเต่าทอง), top/bottom. Been here for 25 years, this is the first year I've seen one of these.
