Front doors
Re: Front doors
I'm probably over thinking this.
The one on the right shows an additional dimension which I can't work out where its for but apart from that these two handle designs look exactly the same to me.
Theres B3000 difference between the two

Re: Front doors
Sorry your picture is just too low quality to read anything, also there is no visible pricing shown.

Re: Front doors
If you look carefully it's is actually quite easy to see, or work out, one of the differences between them

How can you tell that? Is it the additional measurement in the diagram? All the wording is the same.sometimewoodworker wrote: ↑November 15, 2018, 10:52 pmThe right hand one doesn't mount at 90 degrees to the door the left hand one doesNigglyb wrote: ↑November 15, 2018, 10:48 pmNope, you've got me, I can't see the difference.sometimewoodworker wrote: ↑November 15, 2018, 10:43 pmIf you look carefully it's is actually quite easy to see, or work out, one of the differences between them

If this is the case, luckily I'd want the cheaper version. It'd be the 1600mm version if the door opening is 2000mm so B5885 a pair plus locking mechanism. I also fancy a coupe of closure mechs I've seen.
Just need to find a door pattern I like now

Re: Front doors
The hypotenuse is 75mm but one of the other sides if is 63mm so you should be able to workout the angle

Re: Front doors
You haven't posted the part numbers and they are impossible to read so I've no idea which two you are looking at.

Re: Front doors
Yep I'll concede if I look at the pictures you've posted its very clear. However, you must have got them from somewhere other than the Hafele Thailand website because they're certainly not showing there in such detail. The Product Detail sheets are even the same on the website.sometimewoodworker wrote: ↑November 16, 2018, 6:44 amCompletely different fittings and if you look at the other pictures it's very clear
The angle you've pictured for the handle obviously now shows a different fitting.

Re: Front doors
Hi Nigglyb
Just in case you are still thinking of Upvc , I have run a double glazing repair business in the UK for a very long time , so I would advise staying away from Upvc double doors , a single door would be ok , but a double has nothing solid to shut against and would normally bounce . Most of my business was adjusting double doors fitted by builders .
I hope that has swayed your opinion and saved you an expensive purchase , sorry to poke my nose in .

I've more or less talked myself into a wooden double front door but that leaves me with the read patio doors which are of a normal size. I've already asked for hinged doors (french doors?) as I thought they'd make a better seal instead of sliding ones when closed which would help stop all the little beasties coming in. Maybe I need to think again

Re: Front doors
Nigglyb , Your'e very welcome
A better quality Upvc set of french doors , as long as the slave door is fixed well , should not bounce .
Coming from a maintenance background ( Stowe School ) I am finding it hard as well trying to get tradesmen to do the job they say they can do . There are skilled men here because I've seen the work , but try trying to find one is frustrating .

Re: Front doors
That sounds like a lower quality kind of double door fittings. My UPVC double front doors (each full length IGU is about 38kg) don't bounce each is 1 x 2.2 meters. The half that opens second locks firmly into the frame at both the top and bottom before you can open or shut the other half and that has a 7 point lock (2 into the frame and 5 into the other panel.Photoman wrote: ↑November 16, 2018, 8:21 pmHi Nigglyb
