Re: Bank Holidays in Thailand for 2020
Yet more holiday changes
The only change affecting actual Bank Holidays is in December.
• The additional holidays announced by the Cabinet for Thursday 19th November 2020 and Friday 20th November ARE NOT BANK HOLIDAYS (they are only public holidays).
• The additional holiday announced by the Cabinet for Friday 11th December is both a Bank Holiday and a public holiday.
This (hopefully) is the final revised list of remaining Financial Institutions’ Holidays in Thailand for 2020 (B.E. 2563) from the Bank of Thailand is as follows:

BOT Press Release No. 69/2020
Announcement of Special Holiday for Financial Institutions and Specialised Financial Institutions
The Cabinet decided on the 22th September 2020 to announce additional public holidays in order to stimulate economy and promote tourism.
The Bank of Thailand (BOT) has accordingly decided that financial institutions to provide services as usual on the 19th and the 20th November 2020 and to designate the 7th December 2020 as special public holiday for financial institutions and specialised financial institutions in order not to increase cost to businesses and to allow them to perform transactions as planned.
However, the BOT has decided to designate the 11th December 2020 as special public holiday for financial institutions and specialised financial institutions as it would support the government’s policy to promote tourism which will benefit the economy as a whole.

Ashamed to be English since 23rd June 2016 when England voted for racism & economic suicide.
Disgusted that the UK is “governed” by a squalid bunch of economically illiterate, self-serving, sleazy and corrupt neo-fascists.

I checked various websites and one stated that the Govt had moved the 7th to the 11th to create a long weekend.
Other websites stated the 7th was a Public holiday as substitute for the 5th but 11th was not a holiday.
Whilst at the bank was informed they were closed on the 7th and 11th TIT.

I was mainly shocked to learn that the school was open and the teachers had missed the chance to add to their 9 months holiday a year
