Haha love it 747man

Just so u understand if a currency gets stronger you need less to buy another currency so baht 30 to pound would be much stronger if weaker you would get 59 or 60 to the pound

The pound has been forced down as part of an ongoing campaign to stop Brexit and keep the UK shackled to the bloated Brussels gravy train. It is part of a campaign by the elite and the global banks to teach the Brits a lesson for daring to question their global agendas. The UK economy has been out performing most of the G7 since the doom and gloom mongers from the ''remoaners'' dire predictions failed to materialise. BOE head, or should I say Goldman Sachs' stooge, Carney has 3 times reversed the pounds resurgence, by unfounded negative predictions and this time it is heading for 40bt and below.

Hello Alan (747man),I hope you managed to get the problems with your debit card sorted out with the Bangkok Bank in Nong Khai ?
Now lets assume Marco's house is on the market at 6m baht.At 40 baht to the GBP that would net him 150,000 pounds sterling.
However,if the rate was 30 baht to the GBP he would get 200,000 pounds sterling....an increase of 50,000 quid....not to be sniffed at ! ;)
But to get 200,000 GBP at the rate of 40 baht Marco would have to up the price of his house sale to 8m baht....OK ??
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

NOT If he Took the Thai Baht back to the U.K Where he'd have to give probably 250,000 Baht to get 10,000 GBP...Because That's ALL He get There 25 Baht for ONE Pound.....

I wouldn't buy GBP just yet. Still a way to go. Down about 2 baht this year - so far ...... probably another 2 by November unless some rabbits are pulled out of a hat.

OK,Alan (747man),your 42 years of international currency trading logic has got me stumped !
Suppose the house sells for 6m baht cash which if the exchange rate was 30 baht to the pound would equate to 200,000 pounds sterling (paperwork figure only).
Lets assume he goes home with 6m baht in cash stuffed in his hand luggage and several orifices on his person !
When he gets back to the UK he goes into the nearest bank and says "I've got 6m Thai baht in cash, what rate will you give me ?"
The bank clerk says "25 baht to the pound sterling, sir" (your figure OK) =; ......NOW,IF YOU CONVERT 6M BY 25 IT COMES TO 240,000 GBP......so useing your logic he is even better off not worse off !!! :-s
So he would indeed be very lucky to get 24/25 as you say. :D
This is where you have got me stumped. If you would have said he would get 34/35 baht to the pound in the UK it would make more sense to me.
But,anyway,a stronger baht and weaker pound is in his interests if he wants to sell up and go back to the UK.....but thats my logic ! ;)

I think you guys are missing something ,747 statement above is correct , as if you take Bht back to blighty you will get on average 10bht per pound less than changing it to GBP sterling in Thailand , but on the other note , who in their right mind would take BHT to England to exchange into GBP

Yes,but surely less baht means more pounds sterling which is what you would want ?
Shouldn't it be more Thai baht equates to less pounds sterling which enables the banks to make their customary profit ?
I guess we'll just have to wait for the guy with 42 years international currency trading experience to spell out how the system works.
Now he is expanding his experience from the football forum to the world of finance maybe Alan could use a flowchart or similar to show us lesser mortals where we are going wrong ? :badteeth:
