Payment Through Cash Deposit

If you don’t hold a Thai bank account but want to make a payment to somebody who has an account with Bangkok Bank in Bangkok, can you just go into any Bangkok Bank Branch in Udon and make a cash deposit over the counter into that person’s account?
If so, are there any extra charges?

Last time I did this in 2009-ish, you fill in a deposit form for that person's account and pay about 30 baht. In there in seconds.
I used it to pay an insurance policy in Bangkok.

I am not sure that you need to go to a Bangkok bank branch. I seem to remember that you can go to a branch of any bank, they would like your 30 baht.

If you get caught after hours, there is always Bangkok Bank cash deposit machine. Gives you an option to enter recipient's account number and funds are available for withdrawal immediately. Fee is deducted from your cash deposit amount.
