Trudeau pulls a May
Trudeau pulls a May
Looks like Canadians will just have to suck it up till at least 2025.
Striking parallels with Theresa May's long and painful exit. Calling a snap election that failed and ending up with a "supply and confidence" agreement to stay in power.

He is a slippery s.o.b. Have you seen the European leaders calling him a dictator and a disgrace to Democracy at the meetings in Europe recently? It is good to know the world sees through him.tamada wrote: ↑March 24, 2022, 5:19 pmLooks like Canadians will just have to suck it up till at least 2025.

When you say "European leaders", one tends to automatically think of Macron or Orban or possibly even Erdogan. The Croatian far right vaccine-denier MEP Mislav Kolakusic isn't exactly a European leader. Neither are the two German AfD MEP's who raised objections based on what they see as undemocratic behavior. Like conspiracy theorist moths to a flame.
Having said that, Trudeau's own address to the EU collective was, as expected, rather dismal and included his notion that Russia’s unprovoked war on Ukraine must come with “ruinous costs” for Moscow. He's just another blackguard, fence-sitting behind a 2000 mile moat, poking a longer stick.

Doesn't the elected Canadian PM, any elected Canadian PM only serve at HM's pleasure? I am sure that if Trudeau's fascist rabbit hole got all a bit too perilous, the Governor General would be quietly advised to sack him. That's of course if Justin doesn't resign or pop his clogs first.jai yen yen wrote: ↑March 27, 2022, 9:51 amGive him a little more time, even Hitler started off slowly.
Clue here: be nice to the Windsor's when next their representatives swan in for an on-site inspection and press the flesh. Certainly don't do the same as those uppity blighters in the Caribbean are doing right now.
Otherwise, suck it up until 2025 and then make sure that the parliamentarian you vote for represents the party with the nation's best interests at heart. Don't do what Britain did when they got shot of Theresa May only to give the top job to Boris Johnson. Be careful of what you hope for.
