I do not like to plagiarize news articles -- https://www.bangkokpost.com/vdo/world/1580934/
more https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-46300459
His Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/johnachau/
..
I did some googling and this article came up https://edition.cnn.com/2018/11/21/us/m ... index.html
(sorry it was CNN).. Guess he will be a Martyr as per this article.

This type of ---- bugs me.. Met a few of this "Christian Types" here in Thailand. Young with their bible, teaching english.. They have their secret selfish motives to preach the word of the Bible or whatever. I am waiting for the day the Morman's corner me outside of Central to talk to me...
--------------------------------------------------------
This type of ---- is the same selfish style of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_McCandless . I know the subject of both are different but are they. After Chris died in Alaska, there was a wave of young people going up there to try to do the same....
I guess maybe you will see a wave of young American Christians coming over to try to copy the above guy.

My big take on this... Are people stupid or just plain selfish and get off on doing what they know they should not do?

The "tribe" might not be that pleasant to each other either. Perhaps many felons for yucky things and brutal crimes if in the modern world ...

Personally to me he knew what to expect but went anyway, so definately a case of planned suicide.

Those natives on that little island only want to be left alone. They don't bother anyone and no one should bother them. I have always resented the bible thumpers and also wish for my own privacy.

Years ago I was visiting my son who then lived in North Carolina. Bright and early on a Sunday morning someone was knocking on his front door. He told me not to answer it because it was a group of bible thumpers. I told him I would handle it. I never drink beer in the mornings but this was a different situation. I opened the door with a beer in my hand and invited them in. I offered them a beer and was told that they don't drink alcohol. I told them that I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink so we had nothing to talk about. I opened the front door and invited them to leave. They left.

My son was laughing and his wife was horrified that I would do something like that. As far as I know, they never came back.

Completely with you on that.

But it's not really enough the "Christian" groups that he and the others are associated with should also be heavily fined for endangerment and potential homicide.

The islanders killed him after making it clear that they would and giving plenty of opportunities fo him not to die.
But he may have killed everyone on the island from arrogant wilful stupidity.

They murdered an innocent unarmed civilian. You are in favor of this?

I,m sorry he was killed but he must have had a screw loose to even think about teaching these people Christianity.
But thats it about "Bible Bashers".....they are not normal people....most should be kept in a secure unit somewhere ! ;)

They did not murder him
kill (someone) unlawfully and with premeditation.
They killed him after warning. There is no way to know the law they operate under but as there were so many there it is as reasonable to assume it was a lawful killing as to assume the opposite.

They are as guilty of murder as an alligator or crocodile. Don't swim where they are you won't be killed, do and you may be.

He certainly was not unarmed, he had a weapon of extreme evil with him, in many people's opinion, and he may have been a weapon himself.

Was he a civilian in their eyes?

I am in favour of obeying the laws that protect those people.

What might I ask are they to be FORGIVEN for?

Just coz they don't have a "Second Amendment" doesn't mean that they dont have the right to defend themselves [-X

You're splitting hairs. Are you in favor of cold-blooded murder as a punishment for trespassing, or not?

Defend themselves? Now you think "shoot strangers on sight" is defending yourself? You lot are a bit beyond strange. The tribe would have had no idea about this person. What religion or nationality he was had no bearing on their decision to murder him. It's really indefensible.
