Cargo ship scared sick local residents living in riverside houses in Chao Phraya river near Laem Temple, Phra Pradaeng District Samut Prakan, Bangkok, when the ship sailing downstream suddenly went out of control and landed onto riverside piers and houses, at around 1200 Bangkok time Apr 3. Luckily, nobody was injured, though there was some material damage. Ship’s bow nearly missed a power pole. Understood the ship went off bank under own power. According to available information, it’s a coastal tanker CHALAKARN, she resumed voyage shortly after accident, and anchored at outer Si Racha anchorage, northwest of Si Racha, later same day.

Looks like the ship's bow narrowly missed a great big red microwave link tower leg rather than a power pole.
