Ok, so it's 2022. Time to stock up on things before most shops close up for a few days.
This sign at World Gas......closed for 3 days next week (373 for a tank)

Hopefully the accident and death figures will again be low this year due to the dumb a*ses not being allowed to throw buckets of water at windscreens and motorbikes

On a positive note the locals are trying, if you have noticed the groups dressed in purple t-shirts set up at various intersections and sending out messages by signs and speaker to not get drunk and drive during songkran.
Gotta keep a half glass full attitude that one day it may sink in, not all locals are pis.heads. Songkran has significance on their calendar.

I have a glass half full in the cup holder even when it's not Songkran.

Government has confirmed academic year starts 17th May. That's the plan 'so far'.

Motorway 6 will be open to motorists for two periods - before Songkran from April 11 to 14 and after Songkran from April 15 to 18, from 6am to midnight.

That's a 55 km bypass. I wonder what the bottlenecks are like at each end?

Where does the M6 go from / to. Heard it mentioned several times now. Is it newly opened?

Including the elevated bit above Highway 2, it's currently a ~145 km bypass from Saraburi to Korat. It's the red track in the appended.

Piss and moan... the upside is we won't be around to lament Thailand's M25 at this rate.

And then someone can get a gong when it officially opens for reducing the number of deaths/accidents on the road from the temporary/trial opening period figures
