Thailand to put world’s largest floating solar farm into use this June
Bangkok (VNA) – State-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) expects to operate a 45-megawatt floating solar farm it claims to be the largest in the world this June.
Egat signed a contract with B.Grimm Power Plc, which will serve as an engineering, procurement and construction firm to develop photovoltaic panels worth 842 million baht (28 million USD) on Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani, where an Egat hydropower plant is operating.

A little ray of sunshine from Ubon Ratchathani
Re: A little ray of sunshine from Ubon Ratchathani
interesting. the Solar output of 45mw is higher than the actual dam generators (3 X 12MW) so during peak solar output the dam water flow to the generators could be shut down or minimal to save water resources. https://www.egat.co.th/en/information/p ... icle&id=57

On the main HW between Korat and Saraburi there is a town called Sikhio .. on top of the mountains that run along side Lamthakong resevior there are huge wind turbines , we turned off and drove approx 10 kms up very steep roads to the top of the mountain to find a fully functioning wind powered power station , tourist/visitor center and a huge man made lake with viewing platform and a 2 lane road around the lake .. the national park that surrounds it was closed due to covid but it was very interesting to see and stand so close to the "windmills" to understand how massive they are... and comprehend just how the whole thing was constructed in such a remote place.
All the information is in Thai English and Chinese language. Well worth a visit .
