Police have been hunting for a convicted serial killer nicknamed “Thailand’s Jack the Ripper,” after he was suspected of killing again Monday in Khon Kaen.

Somkid Pumpuang, 55, has evaded the police since Sunday night when is suspected of killing Rasmee Mulichan, who was found dead in her Khon Kaen home with tape around her neck and her ankles tied with a mobile phone charging cable.

After investigation, police concluded that the evidence and witnesses pointed to Somkid and obtained a warrant for his re-arrest.

Somkid was released from prison in May on a royal pardon after serving 14 years for killing at least five sex workers in karaoke cafes and massage parlors in Mukdahan, Lampang, Udon Thani and Buriram provinces. According to police, he killed his victims in a similar way, having sex with them before strangling or drowning them.

As one of the kingdom’s rare serial killers, he became dubbed “Jack the Ripper” by the media. Somkid was sentenced to life in jail in 2005.

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: Police arrested paroled serial killer Somkid Pumpuang on a Surin-Bangkok train at Pak Chong station on Wednesday morning, for the murder of a woman in Khon Kaen province.

Police found Somkid, 55, asleep and sitting alone next to a window. He was wearing a cap, his lower faced covered by a mask, and had covered himself with a jacket.

According to Thai media reports he was identified and reported to police by two students, who noticed a mark on his forehead and compared it with police photos using their phones

The BIB first said this fella was in Udon .. and a 50k reward put on his head and circulated on social media ... it did the trick as he was nabbed on a train after a keen eyed young man spotted him and got his reward .. which turn out to be 80k ..
