Thai Minister wishes to close down the Thai s.e.x industry.

She got NO Fu*kin' Chance......But Tourism Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul played down the role of the sex industry in drawing visitors.

"Tourists don't come to Thailand for such a thing. They come here for our beautiful culture," she said.....Of Course THEY Do Luv !!

Can you imagine the outcry if a Thai Tourism Minister DIDN'T say he/she wanted to shut it down.

She should concentrate on repairing the country's reputation for farang beating. I'd love to know what percentage of tourists visit for purely cultural reasons compared to those for the adult industry. They should ask on the entry form!

I wonder how many people who visit Pattaya or Phuket come for the culture?

Who would shut it down ? The BIB ?? Seriously doubt they would want to do that.

Do Thais really not realise what their country is world famous for ? I know what people say to me when I tell them where I live and it certainly isn't " WOW what a beautiful culture"

Not much to look at here in Udon as far as the s&x trade goes maybe with a blink of the eyelid she may nominate Udon as a place of culture that tourist's should visit??????????

Good point… When I told my mother (a woman who has never set foot outside Blighty) that I was going to live in Thailand first thing she said to me was “You must like to fugg ladyboys ….”

Blimey pooclover if my mum (who barely ever left ROMFORD her whole life) had been told I was going to Thailand, she would probably have said .......... oh that's nice dear ........ will you be over for tea on Sunday?

I had no idea, I booked on Monday. left on Wednesday and read a book about how good the food was while I was on the plane . I had no friggin idea about the cost of a Bangkok taxi or what else befell me in the next 30 days
