If CTH get their act together I'll revert True to it's most basic package and have both.
My thought process exactly Galee. I certainly won't be ditching True and leaping into the abyss of uncertainty and ignorance surrounding CTH.
By the way ... what is the picture quality of CTH???

I rang their call center yesterday asking for full package installation
The lady continually went in to various costs, I tried to explain I understood the costs and I wanted to know WHEN I could have installation and was told to call back again in 15 days.
The whole set up appears a complete farce from top to bottom.

By now I expected promotional posters at every satellite outlet, branded vans driving around targeting potential customers etc etc

The Thai market is one of the biggest for EPL, the likes of Thai Air, Air Asia, Emirates, Singha etc invest a fortune in marketing. CTH are going to be upsetting a heck of a lot of people.

Come back UBC .

You must also wonder at the wisdom of the football body selling the rights to the highest bidder without checking their ability to promote it .Whilst UBC undoubtably priced a lot of potential viewers out of the market, it was there to see for those who could afford it. This new set up just doesn't seem to be able to deliver at any price .Asia is one of the prime market places for many sponsors, if they don't get the numbers , the're not going to be very happy.
Will someone post when they find a reliable method of viewing the EPL via sat or net.

Nah, cooperate companies have never given a crap about the punter, money is all that matters.

Definitely question the wisdom of CTH, why invest millions on something they appear unable to deal with.

Do I detect light at the end of the tunnel? Maybe there's yet hope. I saw CTH advertising on the big video screen in front of Charoen Hotel. Udon may not qualify for first dibs on the dishes, but as long as there's hope in the near future.

For all Derby County fans, NWS or Nong Wau So is west of Udonthani on the 210 road. If I were you I'd wait for the installers in Udon to pop up out of the woodwork around August 17th.

How about Udon Cable? Are they involved? I went to their office on Posi Road, but was told they moved 3 years ago, to where I don't know.

camps, could you provide more detail on the location of the satellite shop? How far from the NWS/Udon-Loei Hwy?

Any other installation/pricing info much appreciated.

Parrot,
Turn into NWS from the main highway, go past the market on your right and the shop is about 150 metres further on. (the same side of the road) They have CTH banners outside . ...You may have to wait a few days as they are waiting for more passwords to activate each box.... cheers.

I was rather confused by all the going on about CTH so I went in to speak to the owner of the shop in NWS this morning .Maybe I can throw some light on the subject. The man is Somboon Dowtiem, phone 042285097 or 0821045058.He has been appointed as an official agent for them and so far he is the only one to have a stock of the boxes. Don't worry he assures me he will supply and fit without extra charge anywhere in the Udon area .There is only one packet available , unlike True, there is no gold, silver or anything else, once you subscribe you get the lot. However the monthly charge of 962bht inc tax can be reduced by paying for a period in advance.ie :Book and pay for one year, you get 2 months free, so making it equivalent to about 750bht. Up to a three year in advance which reduces it to 599+, giving you the rate commonly advertised .There is an initial installation fee inc a box deposit of 4,800bht. There is no minimum contract period other than your payment in advance. Now currently the signal although available throughout the Udon and surrounding area is not switched on but I am assured a fixed date of 13th July, next Saturday is planned .He seems to have plenty of boxes but as he is the only one, I suggest a quick contact is advisable .Sorry neither he or his wife speak any English .

The above info is for those wanting CTH satellite reception. It is not to be confused with cable customers where each supplier can set their own charges .
