about as much use as some guy saying "God said" and failing to provide a DNA test to prove he was actually GOD and not some earlier incarnation of Shakespeare or Dickens creating a "good yarn"

One of the great statements made by pro-life attorneys in Dobbs v Jackson, which is currently before the Supreme Court:

"Nowhere else does this court recognize a right to end a human life.”

That cannot be ignored.

It's called murder. Panty-wearing libby pansies just crumble at the mere thought of putting to death a mass murderer, but have no qualms about murdering helpless babies. This provides insight to their moral compass. Liberalism is a disease.

The US Supreme Court is an appellant court, maaka, it is doesn't sentence anyone.

But it does confirm (I use that term loosely) death penalty decisions by various other lower level courts.

Which, however you want to parse it, "recognizes a right to end a human life".

The US Supreme Court only hears cases relevant to federal law and that apply to rights within the US Constitution.

Murder convictions are handled at the state level, and if those cases reach the US Supreme Court, it is because of some objection by the defense regarding a right that may have been denied the accused (evidence gathered improperly, entrapment, denied due process, tainted jury, venue, etc.). SCOTUS deals only with those rights. Nothing else regarding the case/crime enters into it.

They also hear civil cases as they apply to the US Constitution.

I failed to mention that all cases that appeal to SCOTUS are not automatically heard. It takes 4 of the 9 justices to decide whether the case should be heard. So if only 3 want to hear the case, it does not pass muster and must live with the ruling of the lower court or whatever occurred at any level of previous litigation or disagreement.

Open debate and discussion on various topics is the way a forum should be. It would get a little old just discussing the weather in Udon or the current price of Durian. By the way, abortion is probably the worst form of murder.

Agree completely.

A heartbeat is usually detected at 5 1/2 to 6 weeks. Lack of a heartbeat determines death, so having a heartbeat determines life.

Not quite correct. From the constitution
In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction.
So for a strictly limited section of law it is a sentencing court.

The disconnect among Leftists is even greater when considering their outrage over school shootings (which are abhorrent to any moral person) and the fact that before 9am every day, Planned Parenthood murders more babies than any of those school shootings.

And Planned Parenthood does it EVERY DAY with the assistance of tax revenue from US taxpayers.

To clarify over 7,000 cases apply to SCOTUS annually, between 100 to 150 are accepted. So there is a >97% chance a case will be rejected

How long after conception is sentience thought to start? Some might give that date more significance than the date the heart starts beating.

My goodness, how wonderfully facile.

How about those who for whatever reason are declared medically brain dead but that big ol' heart of theirs just a keeps on pumpin'? I guess some would call that livin' the life?

Today's assignment for you is the meaning of the word 'viable'. Off you go now but try and not do it at a tangent.

Note to readers: No "helpless babies" were "murdered" in the game show that Giggle refers to.

No "disease" either (but you knew this already).
