The unaccountable senior advisor to the PM's office then?vincemunday wrote: ↑May 31, 2020, 10:54 pmAs far as I'm aware, I might be wrong here, but your assumption he drafted the lockdown rules is conjecture? To my knowledge he cannot write laws. Yes he broke the rules but so did the MP's, surely an MP should be more culpable than a mere advisor? Of course he lied. Even if his weak excuse of having no friends to rely on in London and his panicky escape to the family plot up north was remotely excusable, the total sham offered for his wife's birthday outing to Barnard Castle with their son is as risible as it is contemptible. The 'weird eyesight' and test drive excuse would be laughed out of court for the man on the street. On the other hand, Dominic Cummings...
Is that better?
AFAIK, nobody from #10 has offered the excuse that Dominic Cummings was NOT involved with drafting...note DRAFTING the rules and regulations... note rules and regulations and NOT laws, regarding self-isolation, social distancing and, as Boris repeatedly reminds us, washing your hands.
The way I see it is yes, he did break these rules but the stiff-middle-finger offered at the Downing Street 'rose garden' was beyond the pale. No apology, no suggestion that he can comprehend why people, not the media, are upset. Watching that episode where his immense social disconnect was so visibly apparent, it made me wonder if autism is hereditary.
