HOW TO STOP HONDA WAVE BODYWORK EXCESSIVELY NOISY RATTLES
HOW TO STOP HONDA WAVE BODYWORK EXCESSIVELY NOISY RATTLES
I have 4 year old Honda Wave 110i and just cannot stop the bodywork rattles from leg fairings and main body covering
Has anyone had same issues and how did you cure it
I’ve tried Honda dealership & a couple of independents and eventually the rattles return
Any suggestions other than flogging it and buying another would be appreciated

vibration caused rattling panels is a pain i had that prob with a Sym 125 here in the uk. Tried tightening the screws still vibrated so i got some little rubber washers cut them half and unscrewed some of the screws, inserted into it in some of the Seams or joints on the panels tightened them up hey presto most of the vibration stopped.

Half Inch Draught Excluder sticky tape ( if you can get it in Thailand) between the panels does the trick.

Hi Vlad
Can you clarify pls- did you pls
How thick were the washers & when cut in half I assume that you had 2 half moon shapes and fitted them along the joints at say 12” intervals and so half the washer stuck outside the seams
Was this mainly in the leg protection parts or did you put them on the main body seams as well?
Thanks again

weatherstripping tape, that is a good idea. sort
of rubber, not foam. thai technicians sometimes
don't replace all fasteners either, that doesn't help

some were placed around the clocks and mainly body panels that seem loose or moving around too much. the thickness of the washers are important so as not to look out of place, in other words all you will see is a black mark between a seam but make sure there placed in position so as not to fall out another check you can see is the mirror bolts going through the fairing these can rub against the mirrors giving a rumble sound slip a piece of rubber between these too.
