So where is the systemic racism in the black Americans responsible for killing the 7 year old black girl?
The mostly white governing authorities decades-old system of herding minorities into ghettos and then claiming that they are simply too dangerous for armed, trained, professional (and mostly white) police to patrol?

Some of Chicago's sub-divisions, Bradford's estates, Paris's banlieue's and Melbourne's suburbs still serve the purpose of apartheid that has gone beyond its use-by date. The (mostly white) authorities letting them build their temples and mosque's isn't the fast track to social integration, but it was a quick and cheap 'fix'. This systematic marginalization of ethnic groups regardless of their nationality in the northwest of England led to their exploitation of underage white girls, themselves marginalized by (mostly white) authorities due to the victim's poor education and low-income status; the welfare breeders. They didn't matter so the (mostly white) authorities didn't mind.

So Tamada your reply would suggest to me that as long as you perceive you are a victim of systemic marginalisation of ethnic social groupIng, the taking of a child’s life is justified and in fact should be lauded as a victory for the socially and racially down trodden. I hope l am wrong in interpretations your post.

This is really sad reading.

Chicago weekend shootings have left 87 shot, 17 fatally, including 7-year-old Natalie Wallace and 14-year-old Varnado Jones.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Despite an additional 1,200 officers on the streets and pleas from community groups, Chicago's July 4th holiday marked the third straight weekend that a child has fallen victim to gun violence in the city.

From Thursday at 6 p.m. through Sunday night, 87 people were shot in Chicago. Seventeen of the victims have died, including 7-year-old Natalia Wallace who was fatally shot in Austin Saturday night.

At a press conference Monday morning, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown expressed condolences to the families of the shooting victims and called for changes to stop the violence.

"We must keep violent offenders in jail longer. We must," Superintendent David Brown said. "We should revamp the electronic monitoring program. The electronic monitoring program, it's clearly not working. We will not stop until this violence ends."

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown addresses a violent weekend in the city that left more than 70 people shot.

At a press conference Monday afternoon, Mayor Lori Lightfoot reiterated Superintendent Brown's call to lock up violent criminals.

"Thoughts and prayers are simply not enough at this point," Mayor Lightfoot said. "Sorrow itself is not enough and what it says is we need to do better as a city, this day, this year and really every day. There is no reason we should be feeling and experiencing moments like this."

The mayor was clearly frustrated, and said there needs to be renewed focus on stopping the flow of illegal guns and the pipeline from Indiana. Police took 173 more guns off the streets this weekend, on top of hundreds more the past two weekends.

"What will it take as Americans for us to wake up and recognize that we have to have common sense gun control, period," she wondered.

There were 47 different shooting incidents across Chicago, mostly on the city's South and West sides.

Supt. Brown called for the electronic monitoring system to be revamped, and the mayor suggested more needs to be done to keep violent offenders locked up

"We need to think about those people who have a history of violence and are found to be in possession of firearms, and creating other acts of violence," she said. "There has got to be consequences for them."

Lightfoot also said more has to be done to provide an alternative to a life of crime.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot speaks after a violence holiday weekend in Chicago in which more than 80 people were shot.

Brown said police need the community's help to find the shooters.

"It's this constant gang-on-gang violence where they're targeting an individual. There is usually zero cooperation between these gangs because they just wanna go back and exact their revenge the next time around, which what caused the death of these two children," said Chicago Police Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan."I know that there's people out there that may know these individuals who are part of these gangs. That information has to be funneled to the detectives. It's the only way these cases are gonna progress."

Lightfoot also addressed yet another tweet from President Trump offering to help with the violence. She said if the president really wanted to help he could support universal background checks and the banning of assault rifles, along with common sense gun control.

GIRL, 7, KILLED IN AUSTIN SHOOTING

The 7-year-old girl was visiting her grandmother's home for a family gathering when she was shot and killed.

Police said she was playing outside when a white vehicle pulled up and three suspects got out, firing more than 20 shots.

The 7-year-old was transported to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

"To see my daughter on the table with a gunshot wound to the forehead, that will change somebody's life," said Natalia's father Nathan Wallace during a press conference Sunday.

Wallace said Natalia liked drawing.

"She did things most kids would do," he said.

Chicago police said Sunday night that a person of interest in the shooting is in custody. Charges are expected Monday.

"It is sad you hear this on the news every day that a child getting killed, somebody getting killed, but you don't think about it until it's your own," Wallace said.

CPD said they were putting more officers on the streets for the holiday weekend but Wallace's family is wondering why they didn't see them on their corner.

As the Wallace family shares their story, they're wondering how many people are listening, and whether their voices even make a difference.

"Something has to give in Chicago, and I pray that Lori Lightfoot and chief of police put something together to stop this," Nathan Wallace said. "At the end of the day, our future is getting hurt."

Meanwhile, there have been no arrests in the shooting death of Varnado Jones.

The 14-year-old boy was killed Saturday night in Englewood. He was among eight people shot in the 6100 block of South Carpenter Street when four males walked up and started shooting, according to Chicago police.

Varnado Jones was hit in the back and pronounced dead at Comer Children's Hospital, police said.

Three other male victims were pronounced dead, two at the scene and one at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. Their ages were not immediately known.

The Cook County medical examiner's office has not released details about the fatalities.

An 11-year-old boy with a graze wound to the ankle and a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the abdomen were both taken to Comer in fair condition, police said.

A 35-year-old man shot in the hip, leg, arm and wrist was taken to St. Bernard Hospital and transferred to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said. A 29-year-old man shot in the foot was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in fair condition.

The suspects fled after the shooting and no one is in custody as Area One detectives investigate.

Varnado's family is planning a peaceful protest at the site where he was killed Tuesday.

Don't forget to add that it is a Democrat-controlled Chicago gun culture (that suffers from sharing a border with Vice President Mike Pence's uncontrolled, gun-running state of Indiana).

Interesting to see several comments about Black on Black violence, which is serious problem, but that does not mean that the BLM movement is somehow dismissive now. Many protests have merit, but on closer scrutiny contradictions and flaws can be found. You always have to look at the big picture, and the general purpose of the protest.

So to dismiss BLM because of Black on Black violence, only proves the merit of their protest.

A friend of mine sent me a picture of a poster stuck in the doorway window of a shop in America.
Stating it is a shop that sells guns, if you wear a mask you will be shot .

I thought as he did typical ignorant unintelligent poster from a typical Gun loving American.
Sadly unable to copy and paste the picture. will try later .

When they post about the shocking things that black folks do to each other, the white majority's (in)security bubble is strengthened.

Black lives matter, so the saying goes. If that motto is true why isn't BLM protesting and marching against these murders. BLM matter is hypocritical because they ignore deaths within their own community. Black lives matter or they don't. It seems BLM only march if a black person is killed by the police.

The cure then is to open your mind so you can review all the known facts and make a decision based on the evidence. It's easy if you try.

Not sure what point you are trying to make??? If BLM don't protest against Black on Black violence, then they should not protest against Racial inequality and Police brutality??? Is that it?????

Maybe he's scared of black people as well as Chinese ? The issue of people killing each other has nothing to do with the issue of authorities killing people . BLM has an aim ,its not domestic violence ,its not climate change ,its racism .. Note that it wasn't about black people ,it was about gun violence ,at no point did the article mention black people. perhaps he should worry about white on white shootings in Canada ?

Do you see the same levels of violence, indiscriminate beating of people, looting and general mayhem being the norm when a policeman of colour shoots/kills a white person. Maybe if the black community were not so racist themselves they would start to have some respect. People forget that there are millions of good hard working coloured people who are integrated into American society living along side other ethnic peoples without a problem. It just seems to be this pathetic excuse for people in 'The Hood' to do what they like and claim it is all caused by racism.

Not referring to the article Dean just an observation on the perceived racism issues that seem to infest inner city "hoods" in the USA. I have no idea how to solve the USA gun violence. Can you just imagine someone turning up to a protest in the UK armed with semi automatic weapon claiming it their God given right to do so.

I may be comp0letely wrong but in the writing of that constitution the right to bear arms was inserted to ensure that ALL Americans had a firearm with which to defend their country, having just kicked out the British ( allbeit with French help ) .
Nowadays with a standing Army and Navy and Air Force that need is no longer applicable , but the stupidity and ignorance is stopping America moving forward peaceably , Sad to see and even sadder to hear the idiotic arguments from supposedly intelligent people , who are the same people that decry the Killings and heartache caused by all those killings and shootings.

In a Court ruling in Canada some years ago Aboriginals had been charged with hunting (using modern day rifles) without the proper licences. The right was based on a Treaty from the 1700's allowing hunting withhout licenses to hunt on all lands in the Province.
In the ruling the Judge agreed that the Treaty was and would be upheld . He agreed that the Aboriginals could hunt based on the writtings of the treaty. BUT he also pointed out at the time Aboriginals were using primitive methods of hunting, Bows/Arrows, tomahawks etc and to uphold the Treaty they must use these weapons in todays society. The modern day rifles, quads, walkietalkies etc would not be allowed for hunting of animals

This could be applied to the 2nd ammendment in the USA where as only muskets/blackpowder rifles may be used eliminating AR 15s, Glocks, auto and semi automatic weapons etc
Everyone can own one
