Garrisen Restaurant off highway to Nong Khai

Post by Ricohoc » June 30, 2008, 10:55 am

On the left on the road to the White Temple. You can see the restaurant on the left from the highway.

Both indoor and outdoor accommodations around a lake. Playground for the kids. Nice and quiet family atmosphere and pretty large. Over 30 outdoor private and covered eating areas. One large covered eating area and one large indoor eating area.

Prices were very reasonable, service was friendly and excellent and the food was good! I will definitely return.

Two large portions of fried rice (moo and gung), a large bowl of pork and vegetable soup, water and tea all around ... 175 baht.

Looks like the place.

Seems like there's always something lost in pronunciation.

The wife calls this place Kung Phao Kalasin. It may be the single best place in the area to eat shimp. They prepare shrimp using a variety of cooking methods and you really have large selection of dishes to choose from. The other items on the menu are equally tasty.

I concur, it is a very good place to take a large group for dinner and/or a party. Of course they have the obligatory karoke as well for the private parties. "Oh my aching ears"! It is worth the fairly short drive out of town.

Yes, I also understand that shrimp is their specialty!
