That's the one, but ain't got any mushy peas. Thinking about it I could make some pea puree which is adequate . Sadly I would struggle eating just the bread roll.

A quick surf of the interwebs reveals many, many ways to make cheap and affordable mushy peas. Apparently they aren't rocket surgery.

Gordon Ramsay:
1 Bring salted water and butter to a boil.
2 Add peas to boiling water and bring back to a boil.
3 Remove peas from the cooking liquid and place into a food processor.
4 Add the cooking liquid a little at a time and pulse until you reach a desired consistency.
5 Check seasoning and adjust.

Jamie Oliver:
1 melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
2 Add fresh peas and tarragon, and cook, covered, for 10 minutes (3 minutes for frozen) or until soft.
3 Add lemon juice and season.
4 Mash until mushy.

I mean, if these two pillocks can do it...

If they have still tins of marrowfat peas in stock, then it's a quick DIY job.

PS: Ramsdens and Bachelors mushy peas are available on Lazada. See your bank manager first.

Just had one of Dean's steak & cheese pies with home-made garlic mashed spuds while looking at a Wigan kebab on my screensaver.

It's all about training for the event.
