There are all sorts of monkey-balls available in Thailand........some, like the ones in my favorite bowl of Vietnamese noodle soup, that are kept refrigerated........and others, like the ones that were sitting in the back of this pickup truck at the Nongwahsaw market for over an hour a few days ago. 'tis the season when just the sight of a kao-man-gai (ข้าวมันไก่) hanging on a hook in a sunny window can almost give me food poisoning.
I learned early on to beware of what you eat.....especially during the heat of the hot season.
Food for Thought
Re: Food for Thought
My opinion is that all these cheap meat ...fish balls...don't have any meat inside . probably only flour and chemicals...pork flavor etc.
I talk with many Thais have small shops in the market or on the street. Most of them say that life is more expensive but because they are scared to raise their prices( the poor man only think about price not quality) they must buy the cheapest ingredients. The result is that food gets worst day after day
