Xmas dinner
I have some mates coming up at Xmas and we are looking for a Xmas dinner in Udon.
Does anyone know which places will be having Xmas dinners or any recommendations?
Thanks.

Re: Xmas dinner
Who cares what night the dinner at Noks place is...... no need to state the obvious as most punters would know that. I don't think I have ever had a xmas dinner, always a xmas lunch.stattointhailand wrote:That would be Christmas EVE dinner then DuiDui ........ Christmas Dinner takes place 24 hours later on 25th

Re: Xmas dinner
When you have it and what you call it depends on where you come from and thanks for the other answers.
Now back to the original question - any Xmas dinners, lunches etc on the 25th?

Almost certainly the following, on Xmas Day: Irish Clock (usually two sittings).
T Bar (Steve & Mali).
Noks Restaurant.
Chris Restaurant.
Sophies Bistro.

Re: Xmas dinner
I believe that Nok's Restaurant is planning their big meal on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas Day. That works great for me - Nok's on Christmas Eve and Sophie's Bistro on Christmas Day. I am fairly certain that I will be able to gain at least ten kilos by the time the festivities end!

Re: Xmas dinner
Word of warning. My understanding is that the traditional Turkey will NOT be available, due to restrictions the Government has seen fit to impose. So when contacting your chosen restaurant be sure to check what meat/poultry they are proposing to serve in lieu of the usual turkey, should the situation be as rumoured.
Re: Xmas dinner
Sophie's Bistro served up delicious turkey on Thanksgiving (24 Nov for you non-Americans). I don't know if they will be having turkey again on Christmas or not.mathusalah80 wrote:Word of warning. Re: Xmas dinner
Barney's comment shows some of the British mealtime confusions over whether or not the midday meal is called lunch or dinner, or whether dinner is eaten in the evening.
Hence what time will the proposed Christmas meal at Sophie's be?
Thanks

Re: Xmas dinner
For those whom don't need to eat turkey the Phoenix Bistro sponsor sure has a very simple but delicious looking xmas meal.
My mum always had roast pork, roast chook and vege's no matter how hot is was in Sydney.
And a leg of ham was always there which would last a couple of weeks for breakfast, lunch and tea snacks.
But I always had the 2 or 3 Kg's of tiger prawns for backup.
A family Xmas day I do miss. Watching the kids wake up and rip the wrapping off there presents, then into the car to visit relo's and their families to give presents and see what else their gremlins got.
All the while sucking on a tinnie of what ever was provided by the inlaws .
Sleep by late afternoon.
Then preparing for the 1st ball of play in the boxing day test.
Sure miss those times.
Merry Christmas everyone.
