Had a lovely meal with my wife tonight. We both ordered Australian Angus rib eye which was a large portion and tender. The meal came with vegetables and a small jug of gravy. I think the normal price was around 699 baht. I also paid 499 baht for drinks which included house wine, cocktails, singha & Heineken. Music was quite good although a little to country for my liking. And especially for Wazza the tax only included the 7% charge and they do accept credit cards

Grevious

Thanks for that update. 499 drink buffet sounds challenging. Is there a time limit ? As in 2 -3 hour ?

Was there any fusion food available ?

Looking forward to trying this place out soon.

Went there last night.
Positively surprised.Very nice interior, staff a bit unsure. Had Australian tenderloin cooked to our wishes served with veggies.
Started with their delicious lobster soup.
Bottle of south African Cabernet Sauvignon.
All at very reasonable prices !!!
When we left at 8 pm the place was full as were the parking right outside
Will be back

I found this on Winehouse Facebook and thought it might be of interest to some of you. Among other promotions it lists the 499 THB Drink Buffet evenings.

Here's a couple of pictures from the Wine House menu that might be of interest to some of you. They've just posted their full menu on their Facebook page. You can click on the photos to enlarge them.

We've not yet visited the Wine House but plan to go there soon. On the grilled main course menu I noticed that most of the steaks are described as "marinated". Has anyone tried one of these steaks and just what is meant by "marinated"? Ordinarily, I'd refrain from marinating a good beef steak. Perhaps it has a different meaning at the Wine House than what I'd normally think of.

Bit of a mixed review having gone today for lunch but more pluses than minuses and will return another weekend to enjoy the 30% price reduction 8)
Nice relaxed area for dining, two options one near bar area one near the stage, chose the stage  :D 8)
Preceded to ask for murphys no have, any belgium beers no have but they have hoegarden on draught so pint of that 8)
Started with lobster soup excellent no 30 on menu, calamari which was good, plenty offered,14 in all and was given top up of the dip no 9 on menu.main course individual scallops which was ok was hoping for more no 53 on menu and finally cheese selection which was poor in my opinion no 124 8)

Minor negatives IMO cheese picture on menu suggest blue cheese, did not get or either a cheddar, only two seemed to recognise a dutch smoky cheese can buy tesco and another tasted like edam.the other two no idea.Unfortunately the lass had no idea either what was being offered.
My takeaway dishes actually came delivered to my table before my main course,at least cook them afterwards so ready at the end imo.
Chose decent wine which was excellent but the selection in the chiller room was lacking in substance, first choice oz wine Blackwood valley not available tho the italian wine albeit expensive was a joy :D Usual thainess asking if wanted wine chilled in ice first :yikes: chiller room is there to keep the wine perfect so declined her offer
Positives overall good food, the takeaway big thumbs up from the tw being crab no 54 on menu, seafood spaghetti no 96 on menu and seabass no 51 on menu 8)
Did get a shock early on with the background music being cd of thai singer running off a few gay songs ymca,i will survive but gradually improved and music not intrusive 8) Did not try the toilets 8)
p[s the view from seating area into the garden, think the gardener has had a day off

Looks like quite a feast.

Noted you did not mention they brought the cheese platter at the same time as the main dish so they had to take it away for a while..... And the background sounds of a couple of spirited kids with their mom and merry dad in the back by the bar..... :-s

Only other customers there being a farang family enjoying themselves.yep cheese and scallops came same time after the takeaway food placed on my table.
Background music thawt for a moment it was g night  some tearjerking songs and some decent ones :D
But they are forgiven, lass knows farang do not want red wine in an icebox, suggestion taken on board to place flags to the cheeses given to give some sort of idea :D
They were happy, nice tip, tomboy staff member carried food to my car :D
Takeaway pictures 8)

My negatives to be seen as constructive criticism 8) And a little bit extra training about redwine a help, not spending 3800 on a bottle of redwine for it to treated with any disrespect with ice 8)
The mini manager speaks very good english, was very pleasant throughout, was happy about my explanation about no ice.
Maybe that garden area is not lit up at night so cannot view it.
Would gladly pay someone 500 baht clear out the chair and table that was to the left not seen in my picture, chair showing, broken pots, hole in the cement, quick tidy up of plants, small amount of gravelling, then candles nightime around the tree, the tree should be the dominant part there and it would make it look so much more pleasing on the eye 8)

As said will return, many food options and for anyone interested a well known lady singer tonight and tomorrow at WH named Izabelle :-k

Thanks for a good review Pomps. Considering what type of restaurant it aims to be it seems to have fallen well short ,considering the money paid for food and drinks. Bad waiters and takeaway coming before the main meals is simply unacceptable for the price. Also not having MANY drinks listed in the drinks menu,
Hopefully things will improve in time, sounds like it needs too.
Thought the price for the wine was 2100 bht in the drinks menu ?
I give it a miss ,to many nice places to eat in Udon now..

Tried the drinks buffet out the other week and the wine was chilled. Asked if they had any that was room temperature and changed the bottles for us.

Wine isn't stored outside in the shed Boes. The room is air conditioned. Have a think about it mate.
