Re Los Amigo's - Not being critical, but Casper is open 7 day's a week (weekday's from mid-day and weekends from 1pm I believe). Maybe you got there before 1pm that Saturday. If he is going to be closed he normally announces it here, as for Loy Kratong on Sunday there.

I popped into the T-Bar Restaurant a week or so back and had fish and chips. The meal was just like you'd get it back in the UK. Really good.

TBAR VISIT

Post by goodison » April 22, 2016, 7:21 am

After a while off the the Bar/restaurant scene we decided to visit Steve & Marli (Good Friends over the last 3-4 Decades) at the TBar. After a couple of Cold Ones I plumped for the home made Scotch Egg Combo (A New Introduction to their Menu (Steve informed me.) 2-3 Scotch Eggs with Salad and French Fries, excellent quality, Quantity, and taste to die for.
Steve has plans to air condition the Bar/Restaurant which, esp. in the present Hot season will have the punters flooding in? Expect to visit more & more in the coming months, one of the most hospitable venues in Saud-Udon! He just needs to know how to hold a valid Sweepstake, but that's a story for anothe day! Ask him?

Yes, consistently top notch. The wife and I took three of our little nieces from the village there for dinner this week. Excellent food as always. Even without air conditioning we were comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Air-con would enhance an already great dining experience. One of the best, if not the best, value in Udon. Extensive menu, quality food, very reasonable prices and good service. Always worth the trip.

With the cooler weather we went to Steve's yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see the dining area enclosed and air conditioned.

English style bread

Post by vincemunday » June 17, 2016, 8:28 am

I've been looking around for decent bread for a while, I've come a cropper a few times because sometimes it's sweet or hard or dry. However I have since found that the Farang shop on the side of the Tbar sells its home made bread which is as good as it is at home! They also sell scotch eggs, pies, pasties and a nice selection of other stuff and the guy there doesn't rip you off either, highly recommend the place.
The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.
