Hi folks, some advice needed.
My wife and I have agreed that a divorce is required.
It is by mutual consent and very amicable.
I am back home now and have no plans to return to Asia in the near future.
The marriage was registered at the local office, so we do have a marriage certificate.
Can the divorce, all relevant paperwork, be completed via post or email?
Would be nice to get everything sorted so everyone can get on with their lives.
Fortunately no children involved.

Google for: "divorce by mutual consent Thailand"
Inter alia you will find:

Among other useful information you will find there:
"The Need for Personal Appearance of the parties
Thai law requires both parties to personally before the district officer for the uncontested divorce. No other person may represent the parties, even if extreme personal or health conditions are attendant to the divorcee.
During the divorce, the parties are each asked by the officer of their intent to end their union. The officer also makes an assessment on the voluntariness of the divorcees before he enters the divorce in the registry."
Which i.a. should answer your question about the most comfy divorce.

Divorce procedure
Easiest, fastest, cheapest divorce process that I've been through, BUT, as pointed out, needs to be done in person.
Very simple, fill in the blanks form, no notaries, with one entry on back, for any uncontested settlement, which for me was one word, "nothing', as answer to what wife would receive. Much simpler than getting married here, which again, was easy and inexpensive.
You'll need a short holiday to do it though.
